Demon's Souls and Dark Souls cheats?!?

These two games have an amazing atmosphere and are just plain cool, but they are too hard. I don't have time to replay the same area over and over, plus I'm not a good gamer. My middle-age reflexes aren't the greatest. Do either of these have cheats? Any word if the new game coming out will have an easier mode?

No cheats I'm aware of for either game, and yes, the new game will be easier for the very reasons you said you were having trouble with the other games. They want to open up the game to a broader audience.

Here is a cheat. Have someone play the game for you. Just had to say that. Just kidding, game gets easier as your stats raise. Best to replay levels you already beat to farm souls and increase stats. Check online for Wiki sites, they step you through each level, weapon and anything you need to know about the games.

No I don't think and yes the new one (dark souls 2)has a easier mode in it that a lot of people hate for some reason or another. My opinion if you don't like it don't play that mode.

Don't pay much attention to people on you giving you a hard time about it. Some people can't understand that some people don't have the time or skills to beat a game on the higher difficulty.

I couldn't agree more. Sometimes you just want to play the game for the story and the game itself and not spend hours pulling your hair out because of the difficulty.

These games are unique in the sense that they are more difficult than most and you are expected to fail a lot. Unfortunately this doesn't appeal to every gamer especially those that just want to sit back and enjoy the game world of the game they play.

The draw (for me at least) is the way the game is set up.
Sort of a nod to old school games also.
The satisfaction of beating an area and moving on is well worth it.

Once you get the ability to summon other players into your game, it will get easier. Especially if the person you summoned knows what they're doing.

Grab the drake sword off the Dragon's tail in Dark Souls, not really a cheat but it will get you past the early hump.

This thread is microcosm of why every game this gen is all around easy.


Anyway the best tip you can have is not upgrade stats but upgrade weapons. Get your required handling stat for your preferred weapon up and increase the hell out of the weapon. Preferably +15 normal or go lighting/Fire upgrade paths.

Thanks for the replies. They really have crafted an awesome game, but I have no problem saying I don't have the skills, or time, to play without frustration. Just wait til you guys hit your 40s. Words are blurred, fat won't drop off with a little running, and Viagra is a Godsend. It stinks to go to the gym and know that you are now one of the weaker guys thanks to failing joints and neglected injuries.

I will be all over the new Souls game since it will have an easier mode for old broken down men like me. I love the atmosphere and game mechanics. Just don't like having to start areas over and over and over...my gaming time is limited.

I'm 47
And because I remember the way games used to not constantly hold your hand and you didn't have a "strategy" guide at the ready.. I love these games.
