Next Gen MMFPS?

Does anyone know if there will be a game coming out on next gen consoles like 'MAG' on PS3??

I am surprised that developers haven't cottoned onto the power of this current gen and made a game that can feature as many players as MAG can.

I am hoping that the new EA/Dice developed Battlefront 3 will have at least 50 players online on a map, as I find it astounding that games such as Battlefield and Call of Duty cap the number of players at 24 while MAG can manage 256.

Are there any confirmed games that will have this many players?

Does anyone know why they don't have this many as the norm?

Come to the PC side. Battlefield 3 already supports 64 players. Apparently they would've had to remove all the destructive elements to do that on consoles.

PC also has Planetside 2, which is free to play and allows up to 2,000 players per continent.

Planetside 2 is likely coming to PS4.

Sort of, but it doesn't sound like player counts will be very large.

Won't happen, but I'd love to see Arma 3 hit next gen consoles.

Developers have said that the new systems will be able to support larger multiplayer maps and higher amounts of players in each game. I am hoping Battlefield 4 on the next gen systems will be at or above 64 players.

Resistance 1 had 40, Resistance 2 had 60 or 64 players ... Resistance 3 came back to 16 players. It didn't really work well.

I don't want to keep souping up my PC to keep up with gaming developments, plus I am one of the few people who really likes the Playstation controller and don't want to use mouse and keyboard or some PC controller...

I definitely see the positives in gaming on a PC though its just not for me, I'm a lot more casual and play mostly sports games.

This is what I don't get, because if it is, it'd have lots more than that, so would have to limit numbers per server or something... I'm not very tech savvy so I am just speculating.

This is exactly what I'm hoping for too. Especially Battlefront 3 as well (Star Wars nerd).

I don't like FPS' that much, but enjoy tactical, team based, realistic online shooting which is not possible on something like COD really.

I'd really like to see a game in which you can play the CPU but with your friends online, kinda like Bots in PS2 007 Agent Under Fire.
Have a group of say, 8 of my friends, and have to do a mission together, or just play a capture the flag game against CPU and stuff, as well as being able to play vs humans.

Could also have a 64 player map, but then add another 36 CPU players or something to it?

Do these games even exist?

Have you tried Dust 514? Its free on PSN and I think it's coming to PS4, not this fall but maybe in a couple of years. As far as one coming out this fall, it's going to be Bungie's Destiny, but I wonder how RPG and deep it will be since it's made for consoles.

Wellllll.... Looks like Battlefield 4, Battlefront and a whole bunch of games will be almost what I was asking for.

64 players is a step in the right direction... Having that with falling buildings is beyond amazing.
