    I don't see how you come away with that particular takeaway from that interview, which was basically a bunch of non-answers. It's clear that the game was always designed with the specific feature set of the XBOX One platform in mind; I don't see how a PC "port" of that is an indictment of the doom of AAA gaming (which has plenty of other issues, but how multi-platform games are made isn't close to the most pressing), much less an indictment of the game itself as a whole.

    Also, my understanding is that EA's involvement with this game beyond actually publishing it has been minimal. This is basically Respawn's baby, just as Modern Warfare was Infinity Ward's brainchild.

        I learned a long time ago that I have to play a game FOR MYSELF! I'm looking forward to the game, and I will play it FOR MYSELF! I'm not going to Ish on a game I havent even played!

          With EA/MS's lapdogs (Jackfrags, LCG, Machima) posting all over Youtube this week I watched a lot of the game and I don't get the hype?

            I'll tell you why I'm excited about Titanfall:
            • unprecedented freedom of movement for a console first-person shooter (this may not be new territory for veterans of PC FPS games, but for console gamers there really hasn't been anything like this as far as I know)
            • two distinct means of FPS gameplay (pilots, Titans) which work seamlessly with one another
            • combined campaign with multiplayer; no shoe-horned singleplayer experience
            • made by the same people who made Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2, the latter in particular IMO the best multiplayer console shooter from the previous console generation
            • a ton of little design details to balance the playing field between FPS novices and experts so players of any skill level can have an enjoyable experience with the game
            • along with Forza Motorsport 5, one of the first games to truly leverage the cloud server functionality of XBOX One


            Take from that what you will and feel free to form your own opinions.

                Brink may have been the single most disappointing game of the last generation.

                  Kind of, but when I played Titanfall it was much easier to go vertical, the level design and some gameplay mechanics (such as ejecting from a critically-damaged Titan, which can throw you way up in the air and give you a few seconds to plan your next move on foot) quite obviously encouraged such. I also remember it being more fluid and organic then what I'm seeing in that video. It took some getting used to for me because it wasn't a style of movement I was accustomed to, having come from playing more traditional first-person games (Bioshock, Modern Warfare, Minecraft, Portal, etc.).

                  For the record, however, I've never played Brink.

                    You say it is their baby but based on those answers it seems like EA is in control. That worries me. I really want to be excited for this game. It's a new IP and it has mechs which are always fun but the AAA gaming sector these days hasn't been making very good games.

                      It was a fun game ruined by terrible netcode. I tried playing on Xbox 360 and on PC, but both versions had crazy lag. The class system, level designs, and parkour movement were all cool.

                      Splash Damage's Enemy Territory games (Wolfenstein, Quake Wars) are still the best thing they've made.

                        How big was the alpha download? since it starts tomorrow it doesn't look like we get to preload.

                          I honestly don't remember what the file size was but it didn't take long at all. I started the download, got something to eat and when I was through eating it had finished. The resolution was at 25% of the final product to keep the file size down as well.
