It's interesting to see so much discussion for the story in Halo 5. Some liked it, some didn't, and some say it's terrible. I never knew there was this much importance put on it though and I'm campaign first player when it comes to Halo. Had there been a precedent for actual good storytelling in Halo games, maybe I could understand.

The biggest peeve of mine with Halo has always been that the most interesting stories are told outside of the games, or the player has to seek out in-game with the Terminals or the audio logs of Sadie's story in ODST.

After watching streams the past couple days, it does look fun. Looking forward to trying it out myself.

I saw a well coordinated team put themselves at a disadvantage for most of a match and save their REQ energy, then unleashed full-scale vehicle warfare on the other team and came back to win.

Yeah its reminding me of Halo 2 so much with the campaign. You either like it or hate it, no middle ground. I have some minor complaints with campaign but nothing that warrants that low of a score.

Whats annoying is too see these reviewers gove lower scores for this game than CoD using the campaign as reason for the low score. Like seriously?

At least one thing is for sure, almost every review praises multiplayer.

Absolutely, I say its Big team Battle, Firefight, Counter Strike and territories all in one.

Btb - 12v12. While regular btb had more people in it, the added AI make up for that.

Firefight - The AI in Warzone reminds me a lot of this.

Counter Strike - The earning points then purchasing equipment throughout the game reminds me of counter strike.

Territories - Theres certain bases throughout the map you got to capture to unlock certain things.

Yeah, Halo lives and dies by it's multiplayer and everything I've seen and read suggests it's a return to form.

I probably enjoy the Halo campaigns more than any other shooter though, but it's not because of their story, it's the encounter design. It's especially great when their sandbox-y and that dynamism plus added co-op support, makes for a lot of fun emergent moments.

It's just interesting to see how much discussion is centered around the story. Outside of the community, I don't ever remember anywhere close to this much. Good or bad, it actually makes me even more eager to experience it myself, because I find sometimes the more divisive things, turn out to be the most interesting.

The vast majority like campaign, mainly due to how much fun it is to play. It's the story itself that is very divisive, leaning more negatively.

GAF has gone on meltdown over the story in H5. It really surprises me, not sure what people have been expecting. Halo is not Oscar worthy material, but the story they have been telling across all the games have been enjoyable IMO. I so wish that Reach was available as a remaster on the X1 somehow, I really liked that game and story quite a bit. I think the Locke/Chief cat and mouse story is quite intriguing to me and can't wait to see where it leads by the end. I'll take whatever story that is trying to be told in Halo over some of these other games anyday. For example, Killzone 2 and 3 tried to tell a story yet they messed it up in Shadowfall.

My one wish is that I hope we never see The Flood again, do I hate that species. LOL! They are so menacing.

Have to say I liked the campaign but im also a halo lore freak.
