I expect people are going to be divided over this, but I think it's looking good. It's how I would envision Halo evolving by giving the player more options, but everybody having the same options by default, and each of those options having their own tradeoffs. Not the direction Reach started to take things with different weapon loadouts and armor abilities, and certainly not with the addition of things like ordinance drops in Halo 4. Back to even starts, even playing field, static weapon timers, and that core formula should've never been messed with. Also, it's big to have a beta so early and be able to actually have the time to tweak things based on feedback.
