From what I remember hearing about the game back at E3: only certain sections of the city are PVP enabled (the black-out sections or whatever). Other portions of the city are like instances where you're advancing the story or playing only with invited friends. Likewise it seems friends can jump in at any point with you.

Perhaps that changed or will change, but I don't think the game is full-PVP. I certainly hope it isn't.

That's how I understood it, too.

However, when you collect rations/supplies and have to wait for a lift then that triggers a PvP I believe.

Yeah, that makes sense with what I thought (and want) as well...

We'll see what ends up happening though, but I don't think Ubi is just making another BF/COD type online game action...

I just think making this a full pvp game only would be a mistake and cripple the potential.

We all know good and we'll nobody was thinking oh man what a great online only game this looks like when we saw the video at E3

I've read it's an MMO though so that means it would be multiplayer.. I understand people's concerns about it but I'm hoping that it works as they intended. I'd just like to know what they plan to do about griefers and the like... Because if you're constantly dying from people 5x your level attacking you it'll get old quick...

I also want it to be mostly playable on your own as I often prefer to play by myself in games like this. I understand the devs no doubt will want some missions or areas to be worked on by teams but I hope that's not the majority of the game or I will not be playing long probably...

No...I know it's multiplayer.

What I meant was the always online aspects of it being a multiplayer are still unknown.

They can't possibly expect people to only be able to continue a game story if their other friends/squad mates/teammates are on.

The fact that they mentioned 72 hours makes me assume that the online stuff was just more of a real-time lapse kind of stuff. It could either blow up or it can be really cool.

I'm not going to assume the worst a year away from release though from a game that on the surface level appears to be great.

Ubisoft is now in the business of pushing games back and changing them. What are they doing over there.

At this point it's like the GTA V thread prior to release but with even greater anticipation for me. I really don't want to come into this thread any longer, yet when I see it get bumped I get all giddy.

I will play this far more than any game I've ever played, assuming it doesn't crap the bed like Defiance did. I really had high expectations for Defiance and although I played it a lot, it didn't meet the expectations I had for it.
