I'm not into first person shooters and not really into fighters, so bf4, ghosts and injustice don't seem like better options.

I have considered getting NCAA 14 as a trade, but fear I won't really get into football on previous gen platform now that madden has upped the ante.

So any new input would be nice.

    Thanks.
Kinda hard to explain, I only had about half hour with it, but got tired of dying as ubernoob said lol.

Its difficult enough to stay alive but it just kicks you back to a certain point and you try again.

It takes you through a training course to show you what knack is capable of...ie collecting parts to get bigger and stay alive (lego games like kinda) so the more you get hit the more particles you lose and eventually your little guy explodes apart and youre done. There is a health meter so you can monitor.

He collects those things in boxes around the map and these gold bars that when collected enough gives knack a couple of power ups to use but of course they run out after you use it once or twice so you have to collect more. Plenty around the map... the power ups are a ground melee..think the hulk hitting the ground and causing a power whiplash all around to stun/wipe out enemies around him, and then there is tornado where Knacks particles form like a tornado around him and you can wipe out anything around you with it.

The R stick you dodge with on the ground so he does a quick warp front back right or left wherever you pull the stick. Enemies charge you, throw stuff at you, shoot at you so it becomes useful.

Im not sure what to think yet, i have it on normal and getting smacked around since I dont necessarily have a ton of particles or power ups so im having to fight multiple enemies, birds shooting small whirlwinds, trolls swinging with hammers, other trolls shooting arrows and beetle looking bugs charging me, once bites and the other tries to bite then it explodes to do even more damage.. so im not very far....lol

Not even sure how to explain the game to be honest.

      Re: Knack

Don't feel bad, I get smacked around on normal too. I have noticed that each time (save for a few deaths where I messed up) I feel like it's an older style game where you actively learn patterns....

It reminds me of old school mario in that sense where you could go back through the levels (though by choice haha) and get progressively faster as you learn the level.

I also have fun collecting the parts and am looking forward to getting the different knacks unlocked for another playthrough.

Nothing groundbreaking, but I'd personally give it a 7.5/10 on my scale. Those low reviews are a sham.

I also think the game is gorgeous, if you can enjoy that art style/direction.

It's a fun game--nothing more nothing less. It does remind me of the feeling I used to get from Crash Bandicoot. Co-op is a really chill way to have fun/bond with a mate, child, etc. Besides, don't we all need a break from Battlefield/COD sometimes?

Played this earlier today (Thankfully free)

In a nut shell it's a mediocre game with decent visuals, if you like that art style.

Very linear and even the "Hidden" items are so blatantly in your face as to where they are it's laughable.

Maybe later in the story they are harder to find..?? I'd hope so but really for that to happen the world needs to open up more, instead of feeling like you're a puppet being pulled along a straight line..

You will die a few times that's for sure but even with that "difficulty" the power up crystals you collect, stay with you even if you die and are brought back to before you got them. So you just collect the same ones again to add to the power up meter.

I probably won't play much more of it so to be fair my "review" is from only the first parts of the game. It was enough for me though to know it wasn't anything special at all.

          Overall I'd score it a 6 or 6.5 / 10

            Re: Knack

If you are thinking about buying this mostly for co-op, don't. The co-op is horrendous and feels like in the last month before release a developer turned to another one and said, oh no we forgot to include co-op and then added it in at the very last minute.

It's perfect to play with a very, very young child that just wants to feel like they are playing, but anyone that can process what is going on in the game is going to be so incredibly frustrated and bored they will probably want to quit after only a few minutes because the second player is not only useless they are basically ignored by the game. So much so that if they die, its no big deal and they just re spawn next to Knack within seconds. However, if Knack dies, it doesn't matter if the second player is still alive, it resets back to the last checkpoint.

              Re: Knack

I never opened this so I returned it and got Lego Marvel SuperHeroes. I was looking for a family friendly game and while the Lego games don't really take full advantage of NextGen, it is a proven franchise that I think I will have more fun with that Knack.

Thanks for all the responses. I think I did the right thing. Perhaps I will check out Knack when it becomes part of PS-Plus down the road. Seems like a no brainer this will eventually happen.

Blast from the past....I just recently picked this up and playing through it. For a game that launched with the PS4, its pretty darn good.

                I like it.

The difficulty was unnecessary and unbearable.

I haven't found it too challenging thus far. I'm on Chapter 10. Going to try to complete the game over the long holiday weekend.

Not the game itself, just how easily you die. Unless they patched that

I got this game on day one the day that ps4 came out with NBA 2k as while and no its not a great game but I don't think it is bad like people say either. I still need to play more of this game.
