In case you own the original Payday, you can get beta access to Payday 2 (for those who didn't see the announcement on Steam's site).

As far as the Career Criminal Edition goes, I just didn't see a good enough reason to drop an extra $20. Unless you are extremely anxious to get 2 beta keys, discounts for future purchases in the game, and a set of blueprints (which will probably be available online after the game is released).

Mill the $30 is the way to go. Absolute steal for this game. It's better than pay day 1 in every single way.

The criminal edition is only 20 more btw but still no reason to get it.

Just picked up a new gaming headset. The wife is going on a week long business trip next week. When this drops on the 13th I'll be playing till my eyes bleed.

I had my first experience on the "Rats" mission (only made it through Day 1), and my heart was beating a mile a minute. I love the cooking meth objective (especially as an avid Breaking Bad fan). The first time playing the map didn't end so well (someone mixed the wrong ingredient and blew us up). The second time playing, I was the only person to survive. It's such a dark house and the cops just come from everywhere. It just reinforces that if you don't have good teamwork, you're doomed to fail. I am loving this game the more that I see (especially when you start increasing the difficulty level).

Finally got a stealth mission on very hard, the jewelry store. It was freaking awesome, not one mishap. Every other heist, not the same story.. lol

Got a video of the Bank Heist with randoms - Cash - Overkill

Ended up getting over $1M and like 89,000 spending cash. Can only imagine what some of us OS'ers can do together. Will post soon as it is uploaded.

I love the beta but they REALLY need to change how mods drop. Pure random drops of cash, masks, or weapon mods has to be one of the worst systems I have ever seen. In the beta people are already just farming Jewelry store on overkill just in hopes of getting a relevant weapon mod for a gun they use.

Honestly don't mind the system. Maybe they should make it more of a in game currency system where you have to buy everything including mods, etc.

An in-game system would be perfect. At the moment I have logged 15 hours into the beta and I have only opened one mod each for the CAR 4 and the pump shotgun. They are my favorite guns and pretty much what I have settled on but at this rate by the time I log 100 hours in game I would have opened only 1/3 of their available mods. However I have been dropped the same barrel vent for the crosskill 4 times. I don't even use that gun for one, and why on earth does it keep giving them to me? I'm already getting discourage to even pursue weapon customization because it's so frustrating. It's a strange development choice to advertised how customizable your weapons are, but at the same time require extreme grinding to ever get to the point you have options available to accomplish the task.

Sorry for the rant. The gameplay itself is fantastic and so much fun with friends, but I would hate for an aspect of the game to be marred because of a ill conceived design decision.

I think it is like the first one, where if its only you, there are 3 bots that join you.

so yes. single player is possible.

Its you and 2 bots, for some reason they don't add the last bot to single play.
They won't help you move bags or restart drills etc.. They only help with shooting and follow you everywhere you go.


Side note: All done pre-loading the game, just have to split time between this and EU IV starting tomorrow.
