I really like the variety of GTAV's map. There's the mountain, desert "country side", west coach sleepy-beach scene and big city, etc. I really don't want/need to explore multiple "cities." Having a central location is cool and flying to another "central location" would be pretty damn epic, but the big drawback for cities to me is they are largely similar so the luster might be lost to an extent. Moving from Chicago to Liberty City or even Houston doesn't really appeal to me.

Now, hopping from Miami to DC to Boston would be pretty nice.

Out of all the suggestions here, I'd say Louisiana or Florida sounds the best to me. Can do the city with Miami or New Orleans, and then you can have a down south, swampy, countryside. Texas/Mexico is interesting, but we've done the desert thing with this one.

If they're going to go for someplace new, I think they've exhausted all possible single-city possibilities in the U.S. I keep hearing Boston, but IMO it's just too small and lacks the visual wow factor of other cities. The more I think about it, the more the idea of a London-based game appeals to me. If we're desperate for a single-location game set in the U.S., I think Hawaii has some potential.

GTA 2 had all three cities.

But they skipped Vice City. I wonder if they can't think of anything for Vice City, so they'll just skip it and create a new one?

This - Why not allow for cross country travel (via air) that could easily be incorporated in the storyline. Could take place in Miami, Vegas, Chitown, Philly, Houston, etc... (not all, but take 3 of those). I realize that would take up a ton of resources but you wouldnt necessarily have to replicate the cities in their entirety. Plus next-gen will give them an opportunity to expand. I mean - look at what they have done with GTA5.

Miami, Washington DC or Baltimore would be perfect for GTA VI.

Considering there is like a "GTA/Rockstar Universe" the next game is going to be in one of the cities located within their universe. Most likely itll be Vice City, id be a little surprised but not shocked if they went with like a revamped Las Venturas/ San Fiero type thing, heck that might be DLC for V.

Outside of those, I think something "new" thats outside of what GTA has done since 3, we would need to look at fake cities in other rockstar games like Carcer City,etc.

Outside of dialogue, and some parodies of landmarks, any "hardcore city" is going to be very similar to Liberty City, anything desert/west coast-ish will be like san andreas, so really if they want us to have "new" experiences they have to use the big differences between their 3 main areas. which of course brings me back to Vice City for their next game lol

Vegas would be cool. Probably not big enough for a full game, but that's fine; Vice City was my favorite game of the series and it wasn't a monster like the recent ones.

I'd also like to see them explore different times. Detroit in the 60s during the riots and stuff could make for a great location. Probably too risky because of the racism, but if they did it correctly the game could really break ground. Detroit was also closer to it's prime back then; Detroit in the 2010s would be lame.

Maybe places in England during the 70s.
