Any MTG Players Around?

I tried to search the forums to no avail, so if there is another thread, in another forum somewhere feel free to merge/move/etc this, any MTG Players out there? Not just standard/modern but legacy/vintage/commander etc. Figured it'd be more of a casual crowd here so we wouldn't have daily ego clashes in threads as opposed to actual discussion.

I always wanted to learn the game back when I was younger. I just found Steam carried Planeswalkers so I messed around with that and ended up buying Magic Online which is $10 for the account and then you can buy digital copies of cards. I dont have time to go to the "local" store so I like the online access to play a quick learner's game

yeah, so Planeswalker 2014 came out and I bought it on steam, had a good time and then remembered that when I was like 19, all of my 6 roommates played MTG and I decided to look and see if I still had the cards that they gave me back in the day... as it turns out I do have them and they are in great condition.

I then decided to buy a starter kit in case I wanted to participate in FNM, turns out there are 2 stores in a 3 mile radius... still haven't gone in yet, but its in the back of my head.

Aye I play, casually only. I have MTGO (jwilphl) if anyone wants to friends-list me. I haven't really played much recently either online or with cards. If anyone does wish to play just ask, but keep in mind I'm not super serious so my decks don't have a ton of money in them. I mostly play Standard online, but with friends we typically do Modern or Legacy (it tends to be a free-for-all as none of us are that serious).

I first started when I was a kid, back around the days of 4th Edition/Homelands/Ice Age. It started with my older brother and his friends, but I was too young to really understand the game. Some of my friends got back into the game in the last year or two, so I started purchasing new cards right after M13 was released. Haven't yet gone to a FNM event or anything, as I've only played casually with friends.

I played for one year and was horrendous. I do like to check and read the new cards to see what the game has become since. Its a cool game but it just costs too much money to keep competitive.

Yeah, I've been playing for 18 years, Between 07-09 I only played sporadically, but unlike you guys, I played mostly competitive, now that I've finally rooted in an area I've actually started going to my LGS and playing some Standard and Modern tournaments. I play mostly for fun(even in the competitive environment), and my friends and I play a bunch of casual magic as well, but they're starting to get into competitive play. I find it to be quite the enjoyable hobby, you meet a few people that are bad eggs, but for the most part, the MTG community is a bunch of players who just love playing.

So what decks are we playing?

I actually try to keep up with Yu-Gi-Oh. I play online once in awhile. If you don't keep up with the new cards frequently, when you finally come back to play, it's like starting completely over.
