Got stuck the 1st time, rebooted, followed the same steps, joined, entered the circle then entered the race. Was able to finish and continue to the next mission.

There's been other tips as far as deleting your character and the online patch (patch only! Not the game) and trying fresh. Can't hurt to try them out.

Yeah I've tried them all, deleting character, patch, starting from the menu, starting from SP ,starting a solo session, starting a closed friend session. Can't seem to get into the first race no matter what. I guess I just have to wait for things to get ironed out.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V Online

Finally got to go through the tutorial and tried to load up the first actual in world mission and it was taking too long.

I quit out. If something happens to my character, then oh well.

I created him on the day Online released, the next day he disappeared, and then today he was back. I'm not going to be playing much until it gets straightened out so starting over wouldn't bother me too much at this point.

I decided to not try to load the game back. Instead, I'll hit up some BF4 Beta for a while.

I don't expect it to be much good this weekend. Hopefully I get to try it before I move. My internet is good through the 15th and then I move the 25th so 10 days without Online.

For the people that said they finally got to race today how long you have to wait at the "Waiting for other players" thing?

Personally, I backed out and retried if it took any more than 2 or 3 minutes to get in.

The sign that you're in good shape is if it loads that skyline screen while also having the Players, Options, and something else listed at the top (they have blue headers).

Thanks that's the type of answer I was looking for some signs of things to look out for in this mess

I finally got in on the PS3 version had the screen with the blue headers and it said loading session in the lower right corner. It took me roughly 15-20 minutes before I got through.

                      That is a great scenario.

Just a heads up for those that get into situations like this... If you look at who just killed you, after you respawn you can open your phone and under contacts it'll show all current players. You can select the player that killed you and it'll give you the option to highlight them on the map. Next you will see them blinking on map, which makes it much easier to follow them.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V Online

Just had two sessions that were extremely fun.

The first I was in a session alone and was heading to the clothes shop to change my clothes and this guy rolls up next to me as I'm walking into the store and kills me. So I marked him and took off after him and shot him in an impromptu firefight. I stole his personal vehicle found him again and then promptly ran him over with his own vehicle.

Another session I was in with a buddy and we were doing missions and ebded up wrecking his car so we had to go get it repaired. As we drove into the repair parking lot a dude drove in jumped out and killed the guy I was with. I jumped out of the vehicle and took some pot shots at him as he got in his car and drove off so I got back in my car and took off after him. The guy I was with got a lucky shot off and took out his tire stalling the guy long enough for my friend to jump in the vehicle. We took off after him and ran into his car but he went on passive mode. We pulled in front of him shot up his car and then killed him while he was still in the car.

If the servers can be a little more consistent I can see this game being epic.

Yeah, I got it today, walking out of a robbery. Running to my car and get hit twice, fire off some shots, but no good. Lost my robbery money and had to pay medical bills. Down about 3K after going back and forth with the guy. Add to that the cops kept killing me...just a long of gun play today.

Crew tag's gone again, in addition to losing my character data. I have a feeling it'll come back when I hop on after work tonight, seems like there's less server load and everything works better then.

Im gonna try to get on a little later again. I got through the race, just me vs lamar for some reason, then it stopped loading. I ended up quitting through the XMB and when I reconnected I lost my character. I have to start a new avatar again.

Hopefully I'll catch some of you on tonight.
