I can understand withholding them until the majority of the online issues are ironed out, but if you are going to start nerfing ways to make money online, you should at least give us an idea of when to expect heists.

To that end, it seems as if most of the online issues have been addressed, plus we should be getting our stimulus money soon which in theory could be used to buy apartments with heist rooms. Maybe R*'s plan is to drop the stimulus money and then open up heists shortly after.

I could have sworn that I read somewhere that the first $250k would be included in the patch. Is that not true? I'm at work, I can't see for myself.

I believe that's the case. I'm still seeing a lot of low level players in random rooms I join, so I'm sure they want everyone to at least level up before releasing the Heists so that everyone can join.

I have a feeling these Heists are going to be extra difficult to complete and won't take less than 5 minutes to complete, so a level 5 player with only a handgun won't be very good in it.

Same reason I think they nerfed the reward money in missions. If you get rich too quick, without proper RP and leveling up, you're character won't develop for the harder missions when they're released.

If you want more money, you have to play more missions, which means more RP.

I agree with The Other Chase about the missions, though. I really haven't played anything outside of the multiplayer modes since leveling up enough to unlock the Survival maps for myself. Races are really underrated as far as winnings and RP goes. Hell, even gang attacks are decent sources for RP since they take all of 30 seconds.

Having to put in time isn't the issue as much as it is the repetitive missions. I'm close to 20 and still getting the same bull **** missions from Gerald.. lol. I just put close to 40 hours, which is just as many hours as I spent working my real life job, beating the story in less than one week of owning the game.

I was also on record in here stating I didn't like the idea of being able to purchase money with real money either.

My beef is really just with the repetitive nature of the early portion of the Online mode. It's asinine.

I didn't expect anyone to really agree with my opinion on things, considering some of you are on the game every time I turn my PS3 on. It's just how I feel about it.

I just know after a certain point the "grind" of acquiring/hoarding money and leveling up will lead me into just running around the map and messing with anybody else in the game-world. I mean, I don't really see an end game or over-arching objective other than chasing money to upgrade cars and guns.

And that's why I didn't play Online in the last one.

I wish they would talk about heists soon. The lofty expectations they set forth in promoting multiplayer aren't exactly helping.

From what I can tell if you don't initiate the mission you won't progress that mission line. When I am online, I usually play with my family and we just play missions. So if my brother gets and initializes a mission from Gerald it might be a repeat of one that we played earlier when I initialized it.

Last night I was the primary mission host and we played some Gerald missions that were more involved then retrieve the package.

Re: Grand Theft Auto V Online

Well last GTA online was horrible. All it was was a gigantic deathmatch or run away from the cops scene.

At least they have missions now in GTA5 that require something more than Kill Person A, Deliver item to Person B. It's still similar, but they have more variety now. I'm interested to see what they do with heists.

Also, don't forget that there is also that new Mission Creator that they haven't even released any details about.

Imagine if these heists recreate movies? Italian Job, Ocean's 11, or even have something like Reservoir Dogs where a heist goes wrong and someone in the group is a snitch and you have to figure it out.

They need to make these Heists very appealing that they can release DLC after DLC and people will keep wanting more and more.

I wish it would let you avoid the missions that you have all ready beat when accepting an invite from a friend. That would eliminate some of the repetitiveness. That's likely part of what I'm experiencing and why I feel like I'm doing some of the same missions, unless I accept some from OSers.

The repeating of missions can be a little annoying. But on the other hand it is nice to be able to replay one of the better paying missions.

Right now my online addiction is racing. Having a blast and is also a good way to build money and reputation. I can easily do 10 races in a little amount of time and be well compensated.

So looks like the mission payouts are a little deceiving.

You will still get the full payout IF the mission you're playing is the first time you're playing it.

The more times you play the mission, the less money you receive.

Has anyone gotten the "You have reached the maximum amount of RP for this activity"?

I got it for Survival last night.
