Good to see you jumping in again Mestevo. I'm going to try with some of your questions you have

I also couldn't control my AA.

I'm assuming you jumped in Campaign here. They're 3. Single, Dynamic, and Historical. I think they all have a cinematic piece (not so sure about Single) but I know the single experience is FUBAR. Gaijin hasn't done anything here. This campaign is almost looked upon for younger audiences. Dynamic is more for co-op where a team of 4 or 5 take part of the attack accomplishing mission assignments. You can play single here but the purpose is more geared for teamwork as the AI may go astray. Historical gives you the memorable battles you want but you're going to have to purchase them. Another thing. Since it came out in 2012, it's become much harder. The AI is much stronger trying to take you down.

Swap over to tank, my lame old crummy tank. I spawn in several times, get killed immediately on the airfield crawling with good and bad guys. Think I got a shot off once. Experience is about what I expected in my bucket of bolts.

Going to assume you're not in single or dynamic campaign here since they're not readily available. I think they're in Historical but under a purchase premium. If playing arcade pvp then I should warn you that this is a very difficult going to against die-hards (Europe in early afternoon) or (Asia late evening) competing. My ranking is at 100 and I get beaten up with tanks. You need to have some higher tier tanks instead of the nuts & bolts 1st tier inventory. You'll also need to be applying mechanical, weaponry, and crew upgrades points after playing to beef up your team.

Hop into a plane, a really bad one (considering I am being surrounded by A-10s, other jets, and modern attach chopers), I get an assist, and also victimize a couple planes attempting to take off. Some moderate success.

Other jets? Not sure what you're playing here but if you're playing arcade pvp here you're usually playing against others in the same tier (time frame). Playing jets means you're in tier 5 or higher.

But wait, I see an enemy ship. Lets hop back into the boat.

I get in the boat, and even w/ all the issues last time I know I can see torpedoes and the options for them on my hotbar.

Little confused here. If you're in campaign here, you're given missions to complete. Maybe you misunderstood the mission assignment? Either way, remember the Single and Dynamic can be played single but take into consideration the earlier response

Nope, nothing. Get the paths appearing for the different launchers, but none will launch. After a bit I exit back to hangar, confirm there are 30/30 on the ship for torpedoes. Nothing.

Swap over to the torpedo boat... same thing. Now... the enemy (they were red) was the USS Arizona... but I was US. Maybe I wasn't understanding something and it was an objective, but either way, I'm confused about why I wasn't able to fire anything (nor did my AI gunners when set to free fire).

    Am I missing something?

Again was this Single Campaign? Yes, its got lots of issues as I said earlier. No monetary value for Gaijin which may explain why they just left it there and did nothing to it.

Also targeting seems to be really funky compared to the tutorial, much more difficult to target an opponent.

Whenever I reach a new aircraft, land or seacraft in my nation tree, unless you play them, and gain the upgrades earned (mechanical/weaponry/crew) its going to feel like almost a useless vehicle at times, such as navigating, controlling locking on. Naturally, you can purchase them and apply them quicker. As a pilot you'll notice how the craft becomes more natural the more times you use it such as feeling out the reticle scope. You can also go into options and play with the reticle sensitivity to find your sweet spot.

Other than all that, fun game I haven't tried in a long while, but these problems will probably have me move along again, and certainly not bother to figure out what it'll take to unlock more hardware.

Was kinda hoping it might be fun for me and a few others to hope into vs AI.

I recommend the special just recently applied, "Children of Arachis" Worm Thunder. It's a blast.

All of the above was in a Custom Battle I think? A Pearl Harbor scenario, arcade PVP I'm sure. Saw someone in an A-10, an Apache, a harrier.

Intend to tinker a little more later this evening while I get ready for a conference and head to a hotel for the week.

So what do your day to day chores look like in this game?

Figure I need to at least login and do the arcade ground and air battles, and any session that lasts beyond that trigger my boosts and get what resources I can.

To effectively level I need to stick to a single faciton for now, researching the required number of vehicles per tier and focusing mostly on 1-2 of those to level a crew, etc? Or do I need to cycle through other countries for any reason?

Arcade air battles are kinda confusing, I find that once I dive down with some of the bombers my rank 1 reserve plane can't really regain the altitude needed to participate. I've landed and repaired and restocked before, but that seems like a waste. Last game I ejected a few times just to reset but I'm sure there's a cost there I'm not realizing.

During one of my arcade ground battles yesterday I hopped in a plane towards the end and when it finished it said I didn't have enough participating for rewards... but I had like 14 assists and a few kills in my tank, but because I ended while I was in a plane it seemed to imply I got nothing for the 26 minute match.

Wish I could do the PVE helicopter event stuff, but you have to be rank 3 or greater or something.

Gaijin teasing F-14 Tomcats and possibly carriers for the next update?!

Love the music choice. US Navy sure has some cool arsenal!

<b>At the moment, all I've been doing is logging in daily when available and flying mid-WW2 fighters & bombers with the Germany group in arcade. Love the fighters from this period, especially when one hit doesn't destroy you. Much more strategy involved especially when trying to land a crippled plane. Sometimes 2-3x times and then that's it. Maybe longer if I find myself on multiple losing teams. Lol

I'm at a Rank 5 and my next researchable vehicle will be in Rank6. Below you will see my Tree, and that I'm closing in on another inventory claim soon (G91 R/3). Thinking of going back towards the Migs. </b>

<b>In the end, this is the best solution. That's what I did. You'll see your vehicle start handling better. Become more quicker. Repair faster, while building your groups</b>>

Or do I need to cycle through other countries for any reason?

<b>You should get a feel of the other countries. Japan is very tough early on with its maneuverability in dive bombing. Soviets, Britain, Germany and US are popular choices due to engineering and weaponry. The other came after and are usually US/Soviet/East Germans remnants. I haven't dwelled into them much. I remember starting with 4 and decided to stick with 1, especially if you like to play with naval, tanks as well as aircrafts. Much easier to build a Tree without purchasing it. It's still a chore.

Will be going back to US Navy AF if Carriers and an F-14 can be had. </b>

Gaijin is preparing another classic April Fools! See ya on the battlefield.

Atomic Heart is teaming up with Gaijin in what looks to be an April Fool's/crafting event.

Four exoskeleton variations for different combat specializations will be available for you: Assault, Sniper, ATGM Operator, and MANPADS Operator. You will also be able to use a preset of ground vehicles and helicopters.

                                <b>'HORNET'S STING' UPDATE / WAR THUNDER</b>

Hornet’s Sting introduces the F/A-18 for the USA and Sweden in several variants, along with the Su-30SM for the USSR that features thrust vectoring, enhancing its maneuverability! For ground forces, the Tracked Rapier, CLOVIS and 2S19M1 / M2 take the spotlight thanks to their excellent capabilities. Rhine, Sinai and Jungle have received graphical overhauls, refreshing their visuals, all while maintaining their familiar layouts. Next up for naval forces is HMS Warspite, one of the most decorated warships in naval history! To top it off, the game has had some interface improvements, item recycling and new player profile showcases.
