Re: War Thunder - PC - PS4 Launch Title
Good to see you jumping in again Mestevo. I'm going to try with some of your questions you have

Hopped into some pearl harbor thing. Couldn't really do anything. Spawned as a ship, told my crew to fire... and nothing happens. There were no boats to fire on, and it seemed like I no longer had a cannon I could control in my destroyer (the one given to everyone) so land targets weren't an option. I also couldn't control my AA.
I'm assuming you jumped in Campaign here. They're 3. Single, Dynamic, and Historical. I think they all have a cinematic piece (not so sure about Single) but I know the single experience is FUBAR. Gaijin hasn't done anything here. This campaign is almost looked upon for younger audiences. Dynamic is more for co-op where a team of 4 or 5 take part of the attack accomplishing mission assignments. You can play single here but the purpose is more geared for teamwork as the AI may go astray. Historical gives you the memorable battles you want but you're going to have to purchase them. Another thing. Since it came out in 2012, it's become much harder. The AI is much stronger trying to take you down.
Swap over to tank, my lame old crummy tank. I spawn in several times, get killed immediately on the airfield crawling with good and bad guys. Think I got a shot off once. Experience is about what I expected in my bucket of bolts.
Going to assume you're not in single or dynamic campaign here since they're not readily available. I think they're in Historical but under a purchase premium. If playing arcade pvp then I should warn you that this is a very difficult going to against die-hards (Europe in early afternoon) or (Asia late evening) competing. My ranking is at 100 and I get beaten up with tanks. You need to have some higher tier tanks instead of the nuts & bolts 1st tier inventory. You'll also need to be applying mechanical, weaponry, and crew upgrades points after playing to beef up your team.
Hop into a plane, a really bad one (considering I am being surrounded by A-10s, other jets, and modern attach chopers), I get an assist, and also victimize a couple planes attempting to take off. Some moderate success.
Other jets? Not sure what you're playing here but if you're playing arcade pvp here you're usually playing against others in the same tier (time frame). Playing jets means you're in tier 5 or higher.
But wait, I see an enemy ship. Lets hop back into the boat.
I get in the boat, and even w/ all the issues last time I know I can see torpedoes and the options for them on my hotbar.
Little confused here. If you're in campaign here, you're given missions to complete. Maybe you misunderstood the mission assignment? Either way, remember the Single and Dynamic can be played single but take into consideration the earlier response
Nope, nothing. Get the paths appearing for the different launchers, but none will launch. After a bit I exit back to hangar, confirm there are 30/30 on the ship for torpedoes. Nothing.
Swap over to the torpedo boat... same thing. Now... the enemy (they were red) was the USS Arizona... but I was US. Maybe I wasn't understanding something and it was an objective, but either way, I'm confused about why I wasn't able to fire anything (nor did my AI gunners when set to free fire).
Am I missing something?
Again was this Single Campaign? Yes, its got lots of issues as I said earlier. No monetary value for Gaijin which may explain why they just left it there and did nothing to it.
Also targeting seems to be really funky compared to the tutorial, much more difficult to target an opponent.
Whenever I reach a new aircraft, land or seacraft in my nation tree, unless you play them, and gain the upgrades earned (mechanical/weaponry/crew) its going to feel like almost a useless vehicle at times, such as navigating, controlling locking on. Naturally, you can purchase them and apply them quicker. As a pilot you'll notice how the craft becomes more natural the more times you use it such as feeling out the reticle scope. You can also go into options and play with the reticle sensitivity to find your sweet spot.
Other than all that, fun game I haven't tried in a long while, but these problems will probably have me move along again, and certainly not bother to figure out what it'll take to unlock more hardware.
Was kinda hoping it might be fun for me and a few others to hope into vs AI.
I recommend the special just recently applied, "Children of Arachis" Worm Thunder. It's a blast.
