Why can't they sell us the offline version for say $30, then I would be more than happy to get all 3 games, I think they would make more money from the offline players who stay away from these games which are really geared more twards the online player.

What do you guys think, 2 versions of games
So I'm trying to decide which next gen game to get, BF4, Black Flag or Killzone 4. I'm not really an online multiplayer guy, and I think why can't the developers give us 2 versions of the game, one with an online option ( like they are now) and one with just the single player story mode? I really don't wanna pay $60 for BF4 and complete the story mode and be done with the game in a relatively short period of time as the single player modes are not what sells these games and are usually 8-10 hours long.

Won't happen due to the fact 95% of gamers nowadays play online only. So therefore you would end up with the offline version of the game selling less then 100K copies at best. -

Buy it beat it and then sell it. That way you should only pay about half the price. Either that or wait until the game comes way down in price before you pick it up.Comment

You actually have it backwards, the majority of games are played offline, only a small percentage of games are played online.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: What do you guys think, 2 versions of games
The proof that most aren't online gamers, on consoles at least, is very simple to see, look at sales of a game like Madden or COD, which are in the high millions, then go online at just about anytime and see how many are on the servers. It's minuscule compared to the number of titles sold.
You can also read gaming industry interviews and see that while online is growing quickly that the majority of console games are offline players and a vocal segment of that majority intensely dislike online gaming and have no intention of ever playing online.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: What do you guys think, 2 versions of games
The article states that 72% game online. I game online but only about for 10% of my total gaming. So I guess any gamer who was online at one point during the year is included in the 72%. Kind of misleading. Maybe I misunderstood but that's what I got from the article. Definitely consider myself an offline gamer. My Teams
