Thank you Hello Games for a great ride and here is to many more hours of enjoyment in Space.
    Wow that's just so cool.

I am so torn on this game for a while now, would love to try it but fear the learning curve and the possibility that the sheer amount of content alone would make it more grind than fun is holding me back quite firmly.

When I returned to non-sports gaming couple of years back, I was so hell-bent on finishing games I started no matter what, but after I flamed out on titles like Metro, GTA, Dragon Age, Bloodstained etc. in last couple of months alone, I just can't get myself to purchase.

But I still do follow this thread quite regularly and how this game literally rose from the ashes over years is incredible, and I am just sooo happy for all people who came to love it...

No Man's Sky is still getting free major updates with no in-game monetization eight years after launch? That's... actually incredible.

It's been a minute since I've booted up NMS, but I still have a giant framed canvas print of the 2016 release day cover art on my living room wall. Maybe I'll give the game a fresh look this weekend.

I think I'll pop this in again ten years later (after release, that is) when I feel they're on the tail-end of updates (they're making another game, correct?) so I don't feel like I'm getting more that I should've used/learned before, and I have a faux complete vision of what my original game was supposed to come out like.

So I bought this a few weeks ago when it was on sale. I have never played the game before and really wanted to try this.

For people who are experienced with this game, is there anything I should do first or concentrate on?

I'd just say don't be in too much of a rush to get off the starting planet. Spend som time exploring, getting familiar with things, and gathering resources (carbon, oxygen, sodium, dihydrogen). But there's really no set path, you can play however you want.

Latest update (v4.65) is a big bug fix. Most interesting fixes occurred for the PCVR platform. It maybe that this update puts this on par with how PSVR2 users are experiencing it. Here are all the latest updates and reports from Hello Games

They really just shadow-dropped a major update huh....figured that's why it was trending. Time to read these notes....

Damn, those are huge graphical enhancements. I'm on PS5 pretty much exclusively now for this game, but I wonder if this update bumped the PC requirements up. Looks really nice. And they're really throwing it at Starfield now with the cloud and sky render stuff (and showing it off with the ability you've always had to enter/leave a planet's atmosphere freely )

Think I've been feeling nostalgic of this thread the past few days, lol. I went through and read every single post of this.

From the hype...to the questioning...to the HYPE... to Flight getting the early copy, and the drama, and then of course... release.

This game has come so far since 2016, and it's bee a crazy 8 years of No Man's Sky. I put in well over 450+ hours on my PS4. Over 220+ hours on my PS5 with this game. It is one of my favorite games of all time.

However, this new update just continued to drop my jaw and be amazed. So much so... I started all the way over.

By starting over, you're also starting over a new universe story and quests! I remember when it first released, someone had discovered the end story which was certainly a disappointment. Wonder how long will it take for someone to discover it this time and what that end story might be? However, I won't care. This will be my space exploration game moving forward too! (unless Elite Dangerous gets more love)

Speaking of having to pick up your dropped jaw, this update also visually effects VR. The world and space you're in is even more stunning now! There's some issues that need to be addressed like rendering frame rate that dips. Plus the Buy and Sell Menus has a bug. Heard a report has been submitted in which Hello Games is good at responding quickly. This bug effects all vr platforms. Still, this is a "Must Have Classic" for PSVR2 & PC VR owners.

                            And to think, there's a Part 2!

One heads up for anyone who wants to start over and is now seeing the custom difficulty settings for the first time:

Be aware that if you choose the "Hostile" option for on-foot combat, on planets with aggressive sentinel activity they will literally teleport onto your face, immediately try to scan you and once they do, they start shooting. It's easy enough to evade them after they engage you, but it just happens so constantly that it's a real pain to even set foot on those types of planets.

They'll still engage you on Standard for that setting, but you'd have to wander into their field of vision - which feels a lot more fair.

They don't make any mention of this being the second part of Worlds - it's its own update. But it's still pretty interesting - fishing, among other things!

This latest expansion to No Man’s Sky is free to download for existing players, and introduces something that felt like the perfect complement to the new water introduced in WORLDS PART I – fishing!     Fishing Fishing in No Man’s Sky is...
