I set the game to hard, and I'm glad I did. It's really, really hard right now. But I did the first mission for the minute men, had to clear out a compound full of Raiders. Took my time, stayed in cover, and meticulously moved my way through the compound. It was so ****ing rewarding when I completed it.

Mind you, I die A LOT. Just running through the wasteland, I routinely come across situations that are just way over my head and I get smoked, lol.

Thank God the quicksave feature is easy and only takes like a half second to do. I learned early on to quicksave after any series of the game where I think: "Well, I wouldn't want to do THAT again!"

But I will really feel like I've accomplished something if I level my character up effectively and the game becomes easier. Every level up (I'm only level 5 right now) seems SO crucial. I spend about 10-15 minutes looking through the perks deciding which one I need the most.

I'm playing on hard as well. It really requires you to think about everything you do whether it's combat or just exploring in general. Learning to conserve ammo is huge when playing on hard.

I switched to survival mode before signing off. Have no idea what I am in for when I fire the game back up tonight. I am a level 7 currently.

My guess is, I won't play it for an extended period of time because it is so time consuming. I don't mean the world is huge, im talking about having to build settlements, find cores etc. It sounds tedious and really time consuming. I will keep at it though.

Yeah in theory the building of settlements sounds fun in my head until I actually start doing it. I'm going to keep trying to plug away though. Just going to forget about the story and going to concentrate on leveling up and finding supplies. I want to build a little outpost at Red rocket tonight.


I was on the brink of trading this game in but the fact that ill only get 30 and the hope that mod support will make building less tedious is making me want to keep plugging away.

I saw someone ask yesterday but I was planning on going back to 111 to get the cryolator with dog meat tonight. Does that still work?

Death. Lots and lots of death. Oh and running. I started on survival but have since dropped down to Very Hard. I don't have the gaming time to grind away on survival. I feel like it would take me on average 4 hours to accomplish what I would in 2 or even 1 on Very Hard.

The biggest differences on Survival are the dramatically slowed healing rate for Stim Packs and Rad Away and the enemies are pure bullet sponges. The first encounter with a deathclaw took almost every piece of ammo I had to take it down. It turns the game into more of a stealth game early because you just don't have the warchest to take on anything above a radroach.

So, I was using the wiki guide to help me find fusion cores yesterday since I hadn't come across more than one extra one in my playing, and only one of the six places I went to from their list had a single fusion core. Kind of frustrating.

I got the junk launcher (glad that's back after not being in NV) and went on a journey searching for a hazmat suit that resulted in half a dozen deaths from locations waaay above my level that I stumbled upon, lol.

Good times.

It worked on PS4. Took a couple tries though. Had to tell him to go right under it pretty much and then fetch items.

Good call. Figured most people would have seen it at the beginning of the game. Even though i some how missed it.

Plan tonight is to build a base at red rocket, get that gun and find the person at the diner to buy stuff off of. If I get all that done I will be happy.
