I take notes, on paper, on things I want to come back to. Safes I can't crack yet, keys I find that don't have immediate uses, other notes of interest I may want to come back to, etc.

I wish the map gave XY coordinates. It'd make things a lot easier.

Im sure there will be a mod for that.

I've done a complete flip. Went from a game I wanted to trade in after 7 hours to a game I almost don't even want to watch football because of at 15 hours. I'm working my way to Lvl 11 now.

I have 885 .38 rounds and pretty much nothing else.

thats 885 caps! .38 rounds suppliment my income, I dont really trade guns or armor in so .38 rounds keep the lights on.

Is there a way to leave notes on a map? I found some power armor but I can't hack into it yet. Not only way I am going on remember where this is in a week.

I was just thinking about what a cool feature that would be, custom map notes would be amazing.

My power armor collection is coming along, found a couple others but I need a suppressed rifle before I can clear out the area and get my hands on that power core (too bad it doesn't seem like you can kill the occupant without ruining the frame).

Trying to get the one in Lexington:

I had snuck up behind him, taking off all my armor for better stealth, and pick pocketed him. 67% for the core. Damn. Oh well, I will try, then run if I don't succeed.

Pick, and fail, guy wheels around and I take off but take a wrong turn and he cut me off from the exit, so I said screw it, maybe there will be a balcony or another roof off the side so I jump. No balcony, no ledge, I'm falling, falling, and splash I land in the pool. Holy ****, I'm alive? I run out of the pool and there is a guy right there firing, so I melee him with my pistol. Wack, wack, he's dead and I'm completely unharmed. I'm laughing because this **** is like a bad action movie, then before I know it another raider noticed me, but I didn't notice them. In an instant I'm dead.

Lesson learned, next time I strip down to my briefs, jump off a roof and then beat a guy to death with my pistol, wait until later to be in awe of what just happened.

On reload I got his fusion core first try, and that is his raider armor in my garage.

I came across a raider who was kneeling down so she was an easy kill, and after I killed her I realized that she was kneeling down at the grave of her buddy who she had seemingly just buried, looted them for ammo, but left the vase of flowers though, I'm not a totally ogre.

Finally got a chance to dive into this bad boy for the first time today. Put a few hours in and the hooks are set... As a huge fan of 3, I can already tell this is exactly what I was hoping for in this game.

For those of you guys having trouble finding bobby pins, what are your luck and game difficulty settings? I started out on Normal difficulty and I think I went with 5 or 6 points for luck and I'm finding them everywhere. I think I had like 15 or 16 of 'em before I ran into my first novice safe to unlock in sanctuary.

Still not sure how the power works in settlements. I tried to light up my two story house I built but can't seem to get it working.

You have to connect the power source to the thing requiring power with wires. It's not that easy to string the wires either.

I have over 100, it's the same mechanics as Skyrim so play that game recently has helped. I would just suggest you buy them every time you shop. I'm also pretty meticulous in that I try to 100% clear buildings of anything I might need.
