        This entire post is pretty much exactly me. Amazing how you what you think is just a personal experience turns out to be very common (based on others who posted very similar things in this thread).

            I took a long break during high school. The only gaming I can remember the entire time is 10 people in a room passing around the controller on GTA3 for about a month. Other than that no one was really into gaming.

                I used to casually game in college (Soul Calibur on the original xbox). I only got serious when I was in my mid 20s and I don't think I can go 2 days without gaming now.

                    Isn't it odd that what is popularly thought of as "the general consensus" doesn't seem to hold up, at least among this highly biased, selected sub-population that posts on this forum (who I think is not that different than a random male population slice)? I mean, I always thought as I got older I would basically give it up, and that was true until relatively recently, when I've been hitting the games as hard as ever. I wonder if it's because you spend more time at home the older you get? I don't know...not gonna speculate. I just think it's interesting how many people here have pretty much my exact trajectory, and I thought I was weird or an outlier or something...

                        I stopped playing when I moved to school, but last year built a gaming computer and have played more than ever. It's so hard to not spend money on steam haha

                            I went 2 or 3 months once, but that wasn't a conscious break, I just realized I hadn't played a game in a really really long time one day.

                                Not sure why, but even after commenting in this thread previously about not really taking breaks before, it's now been a couple of weeks since I've really played anything at all.

                                I'm worn out on Diablo 3 on the PS3 (waiting for the PS4 version with the new expansion to hopefully get back into it), worn out on BF4 for some reason, haven't really gotten into Don't Starve, and never really got into Zen Pinball for some reason.

                                Could just be that I'm not in the mood for any games at all, as all of the above titles are excellent. I just haven't felt like playing anything lately. I've been spending my time catching up on shows on the DVR and watching some new series on Netflix.
