    Micro transactions

For me is this really big concern for the future. See NBA2k14, GTA 5 Online, GT 6, Forza 5. This is only the beginning, soon it will have almost every Game. Could you imagine with Call of Duty or Battlefield you get 1 map , 1 weapon and 40 ammo and the rest u have to pay via micro transactions. I think we Gamers must boycott this evolution. In the end if very few people buys these Games, as sooner it will disappear.

If that happens, I'll just stop playing games or maybe play only 1 or 2 games that I really like.

I'm really not that big a gamer so I don't care so much about it.

      It's here to stay.
      At least on consoles.
      and...ESPECIALLY with certain game companies.

Battlefield has had Microstranstactions since I can remember with the shortcut packs and such. CoD already has camos and sights that you can pay for. Its been around for years and with the rise and success of free 2 play games its only going to get worse. NBA and The Show has where you can buy points while Madden has had the ultimate team packs. NCAA had scouting cheats you could buy, etc...

I will say this....I don't mind if MT's are included...but if you can still achieve everything you can with MT's...with progressing through the game and gameplay....I don't mind(such as in MLBTS......everything you can get from transactions...you can do in game(except for COTW...but that has a freebie or two as well)

This is my thought process as well. The full game should not be limited. Microtransactions aren't terrible for those that are impatient or just have extra money to burn. I want to be able to play through a full game though without being limited. Any game that restricts portions and advancement based on microtransactions is a game I wont purchase.

              Re: Micro transactions

I think the focus of them should be things like add ons and stuff not something that should be there, That's ridiculous.

If they use this to get greedy I hope there is a massive industry backlash that makes them restructure how they treat their customers.

That is why I support Guerrilla Games, they are not charging for Killzone map dlc. There is a $15 season pass for meaningless cosmetic items, but nothing that will unbalance the gameplay.

                  Re: Micro transactions

I have zero problems with microtransactions, if people want to pay to cheat let the devs/publishers fleece them for all their worth.

It's when they try to make the hurdles higher to try to force purchases that it gets ridiculous.

                    Re: Micro transactions

I don't have an issue with microtransactions like EA Ultimate Teams or money in GTA Online. If someone feels they are going to get an advantage by spending (wasting) $50+ in packs or fake money, enjoy.

If gaming companies take the 2k route and tie everything to currency and don't give you enough and basically force you to buy it to do the simplest things then it is a problem.

I can play NHL 14 HUT and not drop a dime into it, but if I needed pucks to also change my lineup in Be A GM, I would trade the game on.

                      Re: Micro transactions

I think they are helpful in ways. Some of us with kids etc don't have an abundance of time so I can't sit back and play the amount of games necessary to have a competitive MUT Team, so I buy a bundle of packs to get me started.

Micro-transactions have use in the marketplace given my example. Its when they might make you pay for content that should otherwise be in the game but isn't, is when I don't like them.
