    7 Days to Die

Anyone playing this game? I just picked it and DayZ standalone up with a Steam gift card my in laws gave me for Christmas. It's fairly expensive ($34.99) for an Alpha game but I've been having an absolute blast playing it. If you like zombies, minecraft and insanely difficult discovery games then it's probably worth the $35 to pick it up. I am still playing solo trying to get a feel for the game and what works but it feels like multiplayer is where this game is really going to shine.

Anyone thinking about it go watch some youtube let's play or 7 Days to Die first night videos and it will give you a good idea of what the game is like. But if it sounds like something you would be interested in then I suggest just jumping in and playing without learning anything about it as for me that was part of what made it so enjoyable. That being said if you are going to check it out on youtube, the youtube videos of people playing for the first time are by far the best to watch. You have no idea what you are in for until sun sets on your first day.

I plan on grabbing it soon. Should have when it was in the 26 dollar range. Just to much life going on right now.

Each update they are adding some cool things.
Was looking into Rust and Dayz but the online aspect isn't my cup of tea.

I really wish they would make DayZ as an offline game.
I couldn't stand playing online after a while.

Ditto. You'd think they'd be able to have a "living" world during the SP experience with randomly generated bandits etc..

Just watching the YT vids of dayz and Rust keep me far from them.

I actually picked up and started playing Rust last night. Between my gaming bias and the literature I have been reading recently (James N Cook, D.J. Molles, John O'Brien) it seems like I have a serious zombie issue.

But as long as you take the time to find a good server Rust is a very fun game. The one I was playing on last night everyone pretty much offered help if needed but wasn't overbearing and everyone gave everyone else their space. I can see how on a bad server the game would be a nightmare its hard enough on its own (in the beginning) without kill on sight. The game does desperately need some updates (durability, crafting balance, armor and weapon efficiency). Right now its just very unbalanced but it does have the potential to be very good.
