X-Box dvd player vs.PS2 dvd player?

I have yet to play my dvds on my X-box,I've had it since last year.I was wondering which played better between the two.I have a PS2 and seen how movies look but never played one single movie on the X-Box.IS the quality better and also is the remote playback kit absolutley needed?

Yeah you need the Xbox remote to watch dvd movies, the controller won't work.

I've used both my PS2 and Xbox and see little difference. I think the Xbox is more compatible and possibly looks a little better but if you are happy with the PS2, save your money and forget the dvd (remote) on Xbox.

I didn't really notice any difference in dvd playback quality between the two either. And as already mentioned, yes, you need the xbox remote to watch dvds.

One thing that bothers me about watching dvds on xbox is that there's no way to find the time remaining on a dvd. It shows time elapsed, but not time remaining. PS2 shows both.

Plus on the PS2, you have your built in digital hookup, so you can watch the movies in Dolby or DTS if you have a reciever with digital input. On the XBOX, you have to buy the required cables.
