    Dawngate (PC) [MOBA]

Not sure how many MOBA players we have around here. I know a few of us play DOTA2 and everything, so I'm just gonna drop this in here.

I've been playing Dawngate recently, and it's quite fun. It's 2 lanes, jungle, Baron/Roshan-type creature in the middle. Turrets can respawn, though.

It's Waystone's first game, but it's being published by EA (I know, I know )

It's quite fun and feels different than both LoL and DOTA 2.

I got invited to the beta a while ago, was able to download the client without any issue. Then a ****-storm of issues occurred. I had massive issues trying to link my beta code to my account, then I couldn't create an account online. EA support said they couldn't do anything and to contact Waystone. Only way to contact Waystone support was through their forums, and even then the support is handled by community members and not actual employees. Was unable to even create an account on those forums to ask for support, so I turned to the Dawngate Reddit for help and nobody was able to help there, either.

I just gave up. It looks interesting, but between DOTA 2, LoL, Hearthstone, the upcoming D3 expansion, and a little later this year the Heroes of the Storm beta, I'm plenty good with PC gaming options. I think Heroes of the Storm looks more interesting than Dawngate, too.

Heroes is also a pretty interesting MOBA to play. It's quite a a bit more... hmm... "Casual" I guess I'd call it.

How have you already played Heroes? I thought beta didn't come out until the summer.

Not beta. Got a buddy that hooked me up when I was up visiting him through some random connections. It was pretty lag-tastic when I played (which can be expected, as it's not even in closed beta yet [relatively soon, hopefully]) but they're aiming for 20-25ish minute matches.

XP is shared across all characters in the match, there isn't a "standard type" match but each map has it's objectives. The characters are some pretty iconic dudes and ladies from Blizzard, so it gets + points there.

          Honestly, if I have to venture a guess... I'd say Q1 or Q2 2015 for a launch.

From what I understand, they're going to try to do what WoW did for the MMO genre. It's gonna be fun, quick and relatively easy to pick up hopefully making it a lot more accessible to the general population (especially those on the fence of "Eh, I kinda wanna try a MOBA but it seems overwhelming and the population of those games are filled with *******s.")

EDIT: I'll just throw this in here because I forgot to type it. There's really not a whole lot I can say about it that you can't find elsewhere. The mechanics are what they are. No item shop, 3 abilities and a passive to start the game, different choices for different heroes. I wish I could say I was sitting here able to play it whenever, but that would be a lie

It's different, and it's fun... but I'm not 100% sure it would ever be the MOBA that would be my "main" MOBA.

It has taken me countless hours of the original Dota and now 250+ hours of Dota 2 to feel like I know what is going on. I tried a few times to play LoL and...forget the name of the other one now that bottomed out, but am so set in my ways that I get frustrated and just go back to Dota. I would love to diversify my MOBA experience but honestly Dota provides everything I need ranging from pure gaming bliss to inches from performing multiple homicides.
