    New XBox question

I finally broke down and bought an XBox (to go along with our PS2). One of the things I heard about the XBox that I really liked was the built in hard drive. Tonight, one of my sons friends mentions that, if you unplug the XBox, you lose everything on the hard drive. Is that true? If so, I don't even see the point of having a hard drive. If the power goes out, I assume you would lose your data also. This isn't a good surprise.

None of that is true. And if the power goes out nothing will happen to your xbox.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Nah, you keep all data on the HD when you turn it off/unplug it. Same as a PC. Only thing that does happen is that the system clock resets if you unplug the Xbox, which is a little annoying for games that use the time and date for features, but nothing major.

          Have fun
