Metal Gear has a better story if that's what you're into, it's also more pick up and play friendly. Splinter Cell's gameplay is much deeper, and it's a much harder game, but without the interesting story I think you're also more likely to give up before you're done with the game if you get bored or frustrated. At least that's what happened to me, I'm about a level away from beating the first one and just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I was the same way, once you get past the first level or so it's not quite as frustrating....still can be at times, but getting into the pace and stealth of the game can be tough at first.

Online's the same way, I'm having a blast, but there is a bit of a learning curve, just play with people willing to show you the ropes at first and you'll be fine after a couple nights

SC has some great moves and smooth gameplay but it's not that fun. It's a 'load 'n' learn' game. MGS is a different game yes, but much more enjoyable for me.

I don't know what game you're playing but splinter cell is fun. I don't own a ps2 so I haven't owned metal gear but I have played it before and I don't get what's so special about it.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)
