The more I play (just going through the main story) the more I feel like this game suffers in the same way God of War 2 does.
Foundation of the games are built on simplistic entertainment and fun. While each game's predecessor(s) had puzzles to figure out, not many of them felt like chores or unnecessary. And there was a lot more action/entertainment than the puzzles.
For whatever reason, like GoW 2, this game loses that whole balance. I love the Batmobile, but damn I'd like to feel like I want to use it as opposed to I have to use it. And I feel like as far as the main story goes there's either not enough fighting or the puzzles and time spent trying to figure out what to do is too long.
Don't get me wrong, I love the game. But there are too many, idk, down moments? There are too many times that I start thinking of turning it off and then some sweet sequence happens or the story gets better and I decide to keep going. That didn't happen in the previous 3 games for me; I wanted to keep going.
Simplicity, man. Someone said they're happy that this feels like a new game. I don't necessarily disagree, but it feeling like the previous installments wouldn't have been a bad thing to me.
