    Re: Batman: Arkham Knight

Are all of the Riddler trophies not available on the map from the get go? The informants on Bleak Island started giving up information on the other islands so I cleared the island. When I look on the Riddler trophy screen there are still 3 trophies missing and a Riddle. The Riddle actually says "this will be revealed when the time is right." If the trophies pop up after a certain part in the story, too, then that's lame as hell.

Anyway, I realized last night that I miss the on-foot complexity of the gameplay from Arkham City and Arkham Asylum. All of the Riddler trophies, so far, have felt very uninspired after AC. Unless they utilize the Batmobile then they are merely just item collections and no real skill necessary to collect. I like using the Batmobile, but the other gadgets are under utilized compared to the previous games so far.

That AK tunnel mission is a *****

AK was exactly who I thought he/she would be though, still a great reveal...

          Re: Batman: Arkham Knight

The Playstation 4 has treated me well. I've played almost every major release on the console and have been constantly blown away by the caliber of games I've been able to play since launch. But other than Watch_Dogs, I haven't been as let down by a game at all since the PS4 hit the shelf.

Batman AA will go down as one of my favorite games of all time. But this game is a disgrace and sadly, after finishing almost 60% of all of its content, I decided to uninstall it.

The story is a mess, and the fact that the "true ending" hides behind 100% completion is the worst decision I've ever seen a developer implement because the "gameplay" in this game is repetitive and boring.

All of the side missions revolve around mindless busy-work, with sparse plots and extremely repetitive gameplay. The difficulty curve is enormous, and even the halfway decent murder mystery stuff is trifled by the fact that you always need to scan one portion of each of the scanner's capabilities. Every. Single. Time. Scan three things. What the hell? That's not a story. That's filler.

The Batmobile is excellent to traverse in, but the stealth car sections are terrible and uninspired. Most side content is hidden behind the car's winch except the game won't let you call the Batmobile often throughout the first 2/3 of the game because of bridges that haven't been dropped yet. Yeah, because retracing steps is really fun in open world games.

All of the side missions are literally rinse and repeat, and the stories attached are simple and uninspired and involve you doing the same thing over and over and over.

Most side missions are blocked off unless you discover the location organically but there's no reason to explore because there's nothing in the city all. When you eventually find the side content, you'll be asked to do something you've already done 100x before. And you'll get no narrative payoff. Just mindless busy work again and again and again.

The best part of this game is:
          Spoiler

I love his stuff enormously. Except during the sections where he monologues, and if you happen to select a new mission to track during the conversation, have fun having his dialogue (hint:the best part of the game) get cut off because Batman needs to narrate for some reason to Oracle where he's going every second as if the greatest crime fighter ever needed to ask permission to go somewhere and save Gotham city. Yes, Batman will speak over pre-rendered dialogue in AK if you select a mission when someone's talking. In 2015 this is unacceptable.

Batman AK is a game with brilliant moments filled with all the worst elements of open world gaming you could possibly imagine: It's a time wasting affair filled to the gills with filler and what's left just simply isn't worth the time it will take to see the "true" ending.

Go play The Witcher 3 and get back to me on what quality is.

I'll never forget how good Batman Arkham Asylum is. But the mediocrity of this game won't fail to disappoint me for months and months to come. AK could have been special. What we've got is a slog of busywork repetition and we deserved better for the end to this series.

Can't disagree too much because I've had similar issues. It's fun in parts but even then some of the missions are figure it out on your own or just much more difficult than need be just to say it wasn't easy.

Although I've seen it til the ending Ill finish on my own but no way im going to even bother trying to get 100%

I didn't even save catwoman so im sure that mission is probably null since im so far down the line.

Damn. I'm enjoying the game the more I play it, but I can't really disagree either. For me, worst of the series.

I didnt see any of those early reviews or anything but it seems like Rocksteady rushed this one and threw stuff in here and there quite a bit... not even a wonder the pc version was a wreck.

Whats sad is I'd had liked to use Nightwing and Robin much more here but they were thrown in like cheap cast members.

The ending of the story made it look like the writers just needed to hurry up so they could go home one night.

This game had so much potential, but it fell short in so many areas.

I get not wanting to make them pushovers, but the speed and maneuverability on these APCs is silly.

Over 60% through the story, the APC stuff is my first 100%.

Batman should drive an APC instead of the batmobile the way those things maneuver lol

Finished the game last night...maybe I'm in the minority but I thought the ending was done beautifully....especially the way you're engaged in it....

Overall, it was a good game...but its not one I'll want to finish again down the road like the previous games. I thought the story was fantastic, but I have 0 interest in doing any more batmobile platforming...

I've never really played any of the other modern Batman releases. I played a few hours of Arkham Asylum, but fell short of completing it because it felt a little repetitive. I recently purchased the first three games on steam. I'm hoping I can get to them before something else comes up after I'm done with The Witcher 3.

Would I be missing anything by jumping straight into Arkham Knight ? Completing three games to get to this one at this point in my life is a pretty big task.

Yes you would...and a major thing at that. Just play City and finish the main story line on that and you will be fine.

I think the batmobile should be more of a choice on missions. Which I guess more developing of maps would of needed to happen.

Wait for him swing at you, the only way to beat him is to counter him. He'll swing, you counter, then swing again, you counter again, etc.
