Will my Logitech USB headset work on my XBox?

A month or so ago I purchased a Logitech Headset (no mute button) for my PS2. It is the USB Headset that came with 3 earpads, and the box says it is compatible with PS2 and USB.

Will this work with my XBox as well?

I ask because I intend to buy a Live subscription in the future, and if my Logitech headset works on my XBox, I only need to buy a year's subscription ($49.99), and not the starter kit ($69.99).

One a slightly off-topic note, provided I already have the Internet access, the router, and the cables, all I need to get online with XBox Live is the "Subscription Card," is that correct?

    Thanks!

you need the starter kit...the xbox doesn't have a usb port, so you need the starter kit with the communicator and adaptor that plugs into a mem card slot. All you need to get online though is the subscription card, yes, since you have everything else

          Thanks for the reply!

How is the headset/communicator that comes with the Starter Kit? Is it worth buying the starter kit, or are there better (and compatible) headsets to be found? If there are, what kind of price range are we looking at?

Lastly, is there any kind of converter available that will convert USB devices into a compatible XBox accessory?

          Thanks again.

You can buy the communicator separate from the starter kit for $25-$30 depending on where you go. That's what I did. I got a xbox headset at Target and a subsription card came with my copy of Pandora Tommorrow.

You need to at least buy the xbox headset to get the adapter that plugs into your controller, but then you can use any headset with a jack that fits into the adapter.

I think the jack has to be smaller than a standard headphone jack though, maybe the size of the hands-free jack that you would use on a cellphone. I'm not exactly sure about that part though.

So you might as well buy the starter kit, unless you have a bunch of subscription cards.

                Starter kit: $70
1 year Subscription card + xbox headset: $80
