Rainbow Six 3 or SC: PT?

I'm having a hard time deciding between Rainbow Six 3 and Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow as the next game I should purchase for XBL.

I LOVE Ghost Recon: Island Thunder online and would love another shooter. I hear great things about both games but was wondering which game was more worth my while.

    All advice is appreciated!

I would say get SC:PT. The online aspect of that game is original and hella fun to play. When I had raimbow Six, while it was entertaining for the most part, you cant help but get totally frustrated because your skills are'nt up to par with everyone else and can die a heck of alot before achieving victory. If you really enjoyed Ghost Recon online, R6 is right up your alley. But SC is a unique online experience that is umatched by any other online shooter to date. I dont have to explain it to you, just go to the Splinter Cell impressions thread and you can learn more about it.

I like the objective aspect of SC online a lot better...R6 was fun for a while, but the deathmatch, or team deathmatch, aspect got old after a while. I read somewhere that the next R6 will be adding capture the flag and stuff like that, so that'll be off the hook. SC gives a lot of variety (go from being a merc to a spy, totally different game). Both great games, I guess I just like SC a bit more

Yeah just picked up SC:PT at Compusa for 30 bucks! Its really cool, completely different aspect than RS. I love Rainbow Six, but it is true its gotten to the point where you can't jump online and play against average gamers. Everyone still playing it is usally far above average. Splinter Cell offers you something new while Rainbow Six feels a lot like Ghost Recon, but just more close quartered.

Re: Rainbow Six 3 or SC: PT?

I'll take a different tack: If you like Ghost Recon, then you'll probably prefer Rainbow Six 3 over Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow unless you're looking for something completely different.

RS:3 is a first-person shooter, plain and simple. Tactics, weapons and game types are different than in GR and GR:Island Thunder, but they're both first-person shooters.

SCPT is NOT a first-person shooter. It's an espionage game. When working as a spy, you don't want to use your gun. You want to be stealthy and sneak up behind and jump on mercenaries from above, breaking their necks.

SCPT also is not an easily accessible game online like GRIT and RS:3. You will be confused as hell and ineffective until you learn the maps and find partners with whom you can devise good tactics. RS:3 also requires tactical sense and teamwork, but knowledge of the maps isn't nearly as important. You can jump right in and be competitive. That's not the case for SCPT unless you're a stealth-game freak.

                      Take care,

I don't think I'd be a big stealth guy, since I hated Metal Gear Solid. I have WAY too much fun with GR:IT and since RS3 is a FPS squad-based game as well, I think I'll go with it.
