I have it also and I like what I saw when I played it.I made a solemn promise to go back to playing it because a friend of mind let me have his thick azz manuel for it.I'm more of a sports kind of guy but I would slap a game in from time to time that has it going on like Morrowwind, definitely worth my money.

Re: Morrowind for XBox.. Anyone played it?
I have both games. I got the original PC game free with my graphics card and recently bought the Xbox Game of the Year Edition. I agree with the earlier comment, it's almost identical on Xbox, except for the resolution. I do prefer to play the game with the Xbox controller though. I normally prefer the PC mouse and keyboard setup for first person shooters but Morrowind on Xbox is more fun with the controller. (I play in first person, not third which is an option)
The game is huge and addictive. I love the freedom, being able to do anything, go anywhere, use custom weapons and armour, create (through enchanting) weapons with magic effects and such, become liked or hated, become a vampire, outlaw, or even warewolf thanks to the Bloodmoon expansion etc. One of my favourite games of all time for sure.
I also played the original on Xbox and agree that the GOTY version has fixed the 'most' of the crashing and 'most' bugs I saw. Highly recommended!Comment

Re: Morrowind for XBox.. Anyone played it?
I had the same issue with freezing and lock ups. Once i sent my xbox in and they replaced the dvd drive with a samsung one, the game has not stuttered ONCE. I no longer get skips between music or anything. This was almost 4 months ago, and still not one glitch. Take that for what its worthComment

Re: Morrowind for XBox.. Anyone played it?
As in the top 10 thread, I listed Morrowind as my #1 of all time. A game I plan on keeping even when the new consoles come out. I have the original XBOX game and it does have crashes and some stuttering but if you are or were a PC player, such as I use to be, than it wont bother you at all. You just have to save your game at every chance you get so incase it does crash, you wont be light years behind.
But as for the game itself, I love it to death. Never has a game suited my needs in a RPG. Its so much like real life its scary. You can steal and pawn anything you want, kill anyone you want(but those come with reprocussions), go anywhere you want(the game world is equivilent to a large US city), do as many missions from diffrent clans/guilds as you want, and practice any magic/weapon you feel like till your level increases. Or you can simply be your own exployer and conquer the numerous caves and sunken ships you may find throughout the world.
With over 20+, maybe 30+ diffrent guilds/clans/groups, all with about dozens of missions that scan the entire world(and this is'nt counting the main story), your possibilities are endless. And thats also not counting the additional side quest that you may find in each city/town. You can soon find yourself so enriched into the world, that it does indeed feel like another life.
Those missions can range from anything from excavating a cave for a hidden treasure, to assasinating a target, to finding someones pants, to fighting a group of bandits, to finding a mans skeletal remains, to killing a horde of ghost, to retrieving books(that you can also read), to looting someones home and so on and so on...
The overwhelming number of items(weapons/magic/equippment/misc) in the game will drive you insane. Items can be as small as a wooden cup or pillow to a glass arm bracer to a bonemolded shield. All of which you can sell if you ever are in need of money. You can enchant every piece of equippment or weapons to add to a purely endless possibility of diffrent combinations that are unique from one player to another. The amount you can do in this game is just staggering.
You also have aabout 30 diffrent skill ratings in which only level up when you attempt to use them. You start the game off with all of those ratings, but only 10 of them are more skilled than the rest of the others which start off lower. You can become a more powerful magician by just using magc as a means of combat or you can become a master at archery by continually using your bow and arrow to fight. But the rest of the ratings never even get skill points if you neglet them. So you must choose your skills wisely.
As you can see, I can talk about this game al day. Despite the bugs, Morrowind is simply one of the most unique games ever to be produced. Its certainly not for everyone as some just will not be able to get into it for various reasons such as too much freedom whcih results in being completely lost. Or the fact that it'll literally take you about 20 real time minutes to get from point A to point B. Or the fact that the game may overwhelm you with all the diffrent missions and all the diffrents clans you can join. Or the fact that you will never truly understand or appreciate the game unless you read any of the numerous literature that you can find. But this is my type of game. No time limit, no random enemies, no direct path you have to take, no rules. If you think it, it can be done in Morrowind.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment
