I just got this one today, am going to make my first character in about an hour and a half and check it out. My wife is as interested in this one as I am, which is odd.

Can you post impressions for us, once you've played a bit? I think this could be a MMORPG to drag me in

I got this game on Saturday, and it's like visual crack, I've never been into MMRPG but this different, also I'm not a comic book guy either... Why do I like this game then? Who the heck knows, but I like it. My roomies saw me playing it and went out and bought themselves copies as well.

Gameplay - Basically everything is real time, and I have never had any lag (basically because when a city gets to full they create an overflow city. You have missions that you can do, or you can simply go team up with some people and do their missions or just wander the streets to help regular citizens.

GREAT GAME - worth the purchase.

Can you be killed? If so, what happens then?

What kind of system are you playing this on???

I have a GeForce4 Ti 4600 and I am curious how this card will ruin the game. It is far better tha nthe minimum requirements but does not quite make the Recommended requirements.

you can be killed, however it will just start you back out at the "hospital" there are point penalties for being killed, so its much harder to level up if you're working from debt.

My system is above average, so don't think you have to run these specs for a good flow

                        p4 3ghz
2 gig pc 3200 ddr ram
                        256 meg geforce 4
                        soundblaster audigy

All I can say is, HOLY CRAP.

I got it on Friday, and I didn't even take a break long enough to come post on the forum since. It's like a Saturday Morning Cartoon come to life. The customization details on your costume are staggering. I haven't really seen 2 people that look alike yet. There's no "auto attack" like in most MMORPG's...at least not in the same way. You have to use an ability to attack. That means to punch, you hit a punch button. You don't just initiate attack and go grab a soda or something. You have to actually do something. Jumping? They can jump like 10 feet in the air by default. This means you can be flying along, jump over a fence, up on a dumpster, up onto a roof top, across an alley, etc. You can jump OFF of roofs as well without taking much damage (10 points, 20 points out of 100 for skydiving off of a 5th story building).

Unlike other MMORPG's, you aren't going to be killed by a rabbit when you start. You really do feel like a super hero. Whereas most other MMORPG's make you have humongous downtime for trying to take on something of equal level, this one has you taking on 3 or 4 at first. You really do feel like a comic book hero, taking on a gang of people and just sending bodies flying (literally). I have done a bunch of different things in it, but I settled on a katana-wielding swordsman. No ranged defense, but seeing him slice up a gang is badass. I had one guy that would have his fists start glowing...I'd punch something and they'd go flying backwards about 20 feet. Talk about feeling powerful. After I'd knock them backwards, I'd toss an energy ball at them or something. Truly impressive stuff. My wife has been kicking me off the PC over the weekend so she can play. Her character can already hover (you can actually get flight in the game at 14....hover is sorta like it, just at 1/10 speed). She'll chase after somebody, they'll run around a corner and she'll hover over the building or something.

It's incredible. Purely incredible. Back to it for me...I haven't even played any TOCA since Thursday (which is a miracle for me). This thing blindsided me...gotta find time for TOCA and CoH now.
