    XBox settings (concerns HD)

Hey guys, I have a question. I have the HD Pack and a HD TV that supports 480p, 720p, and 1080i. I have my XBox settings as 1080i enabled and then I put in my game and it works fine. Tonight I was just messing around and I also enabled 720p in my XBox settings, but now when I put in the game, it won't display anything. 1080i is still enabled in my settings. I thought that was weird, so I disabled the 720p and it worked again. I then tried to load the game with only 720p enabled in my XBox and it wouldn't show (the game is MVP 2004 which supports 720p). Why does the game only show up when I have 1080i enabled and ONLY 1080i enabled? Why can't I have 480p, 720p, and 1080i ALL enabled in my XBox settings?

The reason I was messing around with this is because I noticed that when I am playing MVP, which is suppose to be in 720p, I can still change the aspect ratio of my TV. When I have my Gamecube or DVD player playing, both are hooked up with component cables and running in progressive scan, I am not able to change the aspect ratio of my TV. I thought this was weird and thought that maybe I don't have something configured right in my XBox so that I might not be getting the true 720p progressive scan image from my MVP 2004 game. I have the XBox plugged into component inputs that support 720p-1080i (they are the same inputs my Gamecube are in). But like I said, the game only plays when I have 1080i enabled and both 480p and 720p disabled in my XBox settings. Is that how it should be? Thanks.

Yeah, what did you figure out? I always enabled 480P, 1080I, and 720P at the same time. The only problem I had was with NBA Ballers. Although it doesn't support any of the higher end formats, I had to disable all of them to get a picture.
