    Final Fantasy XI (console)

How many out there have this game. I really want City of Heros but I'd have to buy a cpu and a whole lot of other crap to play that game so I think I'll just go with the 99 buck FF game. Plus I'm already familiar with FF so it may not be so hard to just get into the game.

Anyway, is the keyboard an absolute must? Well, from what I've read, you need to talk to ppl, and what other way is it to talk to ppl? Dont answer that. I have yet to jump aboard the popular MMORPG genre and I cant think of a better game to start off with. City of Heros would of been a good one, but I defitnitly need something for the console to make my life(and my pocket) easier.

I was going through the stratergy guide for this game at the store and dayumm is it complicated. Complicated games is always a plus in my book. I'm guessing that most MMORPGs are complicated also so that comment may not be valid.

Anywho, I'm just looking to pick up this game maybe today or the end of the week. I'm pretty sure I'll get into the game, just want some good impressions of the game besides "this game is crack".

    Thankyou.

Almost all MMORPG's are complicated, some moreso than others.

I've never played the FF Online games, though...I wasn't into the Final Fantasy offline ones, so didn't give the online versions a shot.

I was only into FF for a short period of time. I put in many hours of FF 7, 8 and 10 but besides that, I stop being a fan of it when I played games like Morrowind and Dues Ex. I never really cared for the MMORPGs, especially when Everquest droped. But I've always wondered about them and I am currently looking for "that" game that'll introduce me to the genre. FF looks like a shoe in. I want CoH, but I'd have to go through to much before I can even play it.

my best advice would be to check out these sites:

poke around the message board and it'll give you a pretty good idea of what to expect.

I enjoy FFXI after playing Everquest Online Adventures (EQOA) for a year. I do think it would be easier for someone new to pick up and play EQOA, but not so much as to be the reason to not choose FFXI.

the one thing i will say is that if you think youre weary of maybe not liking the game it is a significant investment:

                harddrive 99.00
network adapter (must be Sony) 30-45.00
keyboard 20-30.00 (optional) really depends on how good you are with menus and fast with an on screen keyboard and the controller
subscription first month free then 12.99 a month for one character plus 1.99 (?) each additional per month.

                thats some basic info.
