Same. It's only a CD/DVD Reader so I don't see anyway that leaving the disc in will hurt it. It just doesn't make sense since the laser is off when the system is off. Having a disc in or out of the system wouldn't make a difference.

I agree I have had mine about a month after launch and always leave the game in. Only problem I can think of is one time I got that dirty disk error or whatever it is. I dont see how it would hurt leaving the game in either.

I could be way off, but if the cd is dorment inside the case, then the weight of the cd could be bearing down on the holder.

When you are playing the game, the cd is spinning and taking what I remember of physics, a spinning object is much lighter than a dorment object.

I could be a complete idiot right now, but I'm taking my chances.

And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Good guess though I dont believe this could be the problem.

You ever carry an Xbox? If anything weighs down something inside it, its not going to be a DVD.

I don't think that it's the fact that you are leaving it in at rest, but it's if you ever pick up of transport your Xbox somewhere where it might mess up something, like flipping it upside-down or turning it sideways to but it in your backpack or something--I don't think that's good for the game inside.

Either way, since the Xbox is brand new, I'm taking no precautions, and taking out ESPN Baseball and Halo every time I turn it off.
