    City of Heroes Control Question

First of all, Thanks guys! Those team missions were a blast yesterday!

Do you CoH heroes find yourself using the keyboard only in combat, for all functions of movement, targeting, and power selection?

I had been using the mouse, but I'm thinking it seems better to go keyboard only.

Re: City of Heroes Control Question

I use the Microsoft Strategic Commander.

I've used it for years in MMORPG's, and it eliminates the need to find a key. Mapping 24 buttons on the face, plus 2 for zoom in/zoom out, using the sliding/twisting base to move the character while you use the mouse to look in CoH. It suits everything I need.

Problem is, they're no longer in production, so you have to buy them from eBay or something.

I also have the Nostromo n52 speedpad, but the button presses are "off" in that thing...making it harder than it needs to be.

Good gosh - I think I would need 7 more years of college before I could learn to use that thing.

                Heh.

So okay, I guess I'm displaying my MMORPG newbieness, eh?

I'll have to see about picking up this, or something like it.

                Thanks!

Re: City of Heroes Control Question

I have mine setup like a FPS game. Guess that is just what I am used to. I do use the tab key to target enemies instead of clicking on them though.

I have a concern though. My "powers" bar is full, I am wondering if you can show multiple "powers" bars or just one. I know you have 4 bars, but is it possible to show two rows at a time....kinda like the inspirations menu?

Yeah, click the up arrow on your power bar.

Or you can hold the alt key to show it momentarily (alt+1-0 will activate the top row...change it to 2 and you have 1 and 2 showing at once).
