I would love to get both, but that's not going to happen, especially with PS3 and XBox 2 on the horizon. DS is looking like it's 199.99 according to EB and coming out end of November. PSP is rumored to be at the $300 price point. IMO, both are too high for a portable unit. I'll probably wait on both for their prices to come down.

It can't play DVD's, it plays a DVD type media, but it's the size of GameCube games. Sony claims movie's will come out on the UMD disc's, that's still to be seen. I'm sure Columbia TriStar will have movies out, but will say Paramount or Buena Vista? Probably not.Comment

Re: early edition : PSP or DS?
I want a PSP for sure!! I just worry that it will be too expensive! It's almost PS2 quality graphics, with a quality screen and whatever else, so it won't be cheap.
Have there been any quotes on the price?
On the movies...I did read that Final Fantasy 7 (sequal thingy) Movie will be released on the umd format but I doubt many others will. It's probably too much trouble for most companies. And how about the disc capacity? If it's like Gamecube then it's about half a dvd.
What type of music does it play? And how? Same as the movies?
One thing is for sure, the games look great!! Much better visually than the DS! Look at Wipeout!!!!! Smooth and sexy! I want it now!!Comment

Price rumor is $299. I say it comes out at $249 though, since the DS will be $199. A $100 difference would lead me to the DS, especially since it plays Advance/Gameboy games too.Comment
