    Xbox Ripping: Song File Format?

I have a question regarding the Xbox's ripping capabilities. What is the format of the songs on a pre-recorded audio CD that can be ripped to the hard drive? With ESPN NFL Football 2k5 coming out this August, I have some custom songs I downloaded from the internet (which I saved on a CD) that I want to RIP to the hard drive for playing in my stadium in the game. The format I currently have the songs in is a .WAV file. Do I have to convert this .WAV file to another format in order to get it to play on my Xbox?

    Help please!

if they're on the cd and they play in most traditional cd players, the xbox can rip it.

I've only ever tried the mp3 format songs, but the xbox rips and converts the files to wma files I believe.

But any music cd can be ripped.

          Vader -

Once it's a playable audio CD, it's no longer in WMA. It's in CDA ... which the Xbox will read.

However, some Xboxes will only read certain burned discs.

If you're serious about this, you might investigate the Xbox Music Mixer. The karaoke/rave functions are .... whatever. But you can create soundtracks on your PC from MP3 or WMA files, then transfer those over the network to your Xbox, including names and artists.

Pretty cool, if you're really looking at Xbox soundtracks.

                fossen,

Are you saying that I would have to have my Xbox hooked up to the Web in order to do this? if so, I don't have Xbox live and I would not be able to do it. Can I collect all the songs I want at 'Xbox Music Mixer' to my hard drive in order to burn a CD for transfer to the Xbox?

Your Xbox would not have to be hooked up to the web - just your home network.

This allows you to transfer music you have on your CPU to your Xbox - with tags intact.
