Re: Full Spectrum Warrior ?
I will probably pick this one, up as it will hold me until the football games are released..
My one concern/worry regarding the game is that it is too short.
In an interview I watched at IGN the representative mentioned that the game starts you off at dawn on the outskirts of the Middle Eastern town you are neutralizing. He said you then order your troops and play through the game, so that by evening you have completed the game. So basically, your actions take place from dawn till dusk. In real time, that is 12-14 hours.
Ideally the game is longer than that, but if not, it will have difficulty levels and co-op play online so that should extend its life.
Also, the one thing I saw in a video that was a little worrisome was a scene in which troops were ordered past a corner, and across the street. When the troops passed the corner and headed across the street, one of them was shot point blank by a guy that was standing right around the corner. Instead of reacting, the troops continued to their destination, and then returned fire. The point being that they finished their "path" before they reacted to the enemy that was standing right next to them.
Other than that though, the game looks solid. The real army uses a version of it to train their troops, so it should be good. I read today that if one of your troops is killed in battle, you have to restart from your last checkpoint. You can carry injured to the nearest med station, but if anyone is killed, it's game over, which I wasn't aware of. Not a bad thing, just an observation.
Again, the game has a ton of potential. Ideally it all is done right and the game "works." If it does, I'll buy it for sure.Comment

Re: Full Spectrum Warrior ?
I'm definitely getting it. I've heard nothing but good things. There are people that this game definitely isn't for. It's for those that want a hardcore military sim. If you're looking for a Rambo, nonstrop type shooter this won't be it. This game is more focused on procedures, proper tactical movement, firing lanes, etc.
I do hope as stated above though that it isn't too short. It might slip to rental status if that is the case. I'll wait for the review.PSN: JISTIC_OS
