Sounds more like a 20$ dlc. Something like BF Vietnam. I don't want a BF SWAT game that replicates "battlefield". If you're taking the Police approach then do it full fledge. Don't add stuff for the sake of just doing it.

Yeah I am sorta hesitant as well. I know nothing about Visceral either.

Why would they make it battlefield swat, seems like it should be its own game. Battlefield is a war game. Not sure I understand that decision

Maybe they are approaching it as more of a "urban battlefield" type game? You know it will be storyline driven so I wonder if it will be in fact a DEA FAST team approach or just a drug cartel chase that has some huge personal ramifications for the characters involved? Guess the "wait and see" is the best policy as I am curious on the synopsis of the story.

*I know when certain agencies come up to train with us, they have access to personal UAVs such as the "Raven" type aircraft. Not drones, but think of an airplane or a type of dual prop helo romote controlled deal with a GoPro attached to it. I know Phoenix PD SWAT guys have used it for sure. So there is that aspect of "vehicles" that one could pilot. Also the heavy armored SWAT vehicles can be used. Lots of interesting ways this could pan out...unfortunately a ton of disappointment potential is present as well

As long as they can implement team work and strategy required by the swat force, it can be amazing.

Just imagine setting up a breach on a door that has opposition inside and flashing and killing. Be interested to see how it turns out.

Why so soon for another battlefield game anyway? I rather a game come out not every year with less flaws than another game coming out with tons of issues.

It's not the same developer as the BF3/BF4. It just has the Battlefield name on it

Man I hope they do this well. One of my favorite things in the old rainbow PC games...

I wouldn't hold my breath hoping for a hardcore tactical shooter, similar to the old R6 games, Ghost Recon 1, SWAT 3/4… coming out of todays AAA devs/publishers. Not enough casuals/CoD players will buy it.

Knockoff version of The Division?

It's been kept under wraps (I'm assuming), and if it's supposedly coming out next year then this may have been in development as long as the division if not longer.

Either way totally different game in my eyes (if indeed this game exists).

I'm absolutely looking forward to the division, but if there's a police themed Battlefield game coming!?

I'm all over it.

If the name sticks, they should consider removing the Battlefield name. It's going to cause a lot of confusion among the average gamer that doesn't even know who DICE is or that they deserve a lot of credit for their representation of the Battlefield name.

With the name Battlefield on it then the casuals who dont follow games as closely as we do will pick it up simply because it says Battlefield. Thats why they would tie the name to it.

If this was going to be like Swat 3 and 4, I might have given it a shot. I doubt that will be though, with the Battlefield name attached.

I can't imagine it will be 64 player servers being SWAT themed. Maybe it's set in the Brazil Favelas, both sides have weapons that would be deemed unrealistic for criminals or police to have in the US. Another possibility is terrorists launched a Mumbai style attack somewhere here in the West half of the world.

Either way at least we should see some interesting new game modes.
