Re: Battlefield: Hardline (2014)
Had a great run tonight with the old BF4 Crew! Dust Bowl is an awesome map, and I love that it only takes 1 or 2 stingers to take down a chopper. Amazing. This game is a blast to play.I am the lesson after the fall.Comment

Re: Battlefield: Hardline (2014)
Yeah I never thought I'd enjoy it as much as I have. I'll probably be getting it when it's released next month. It sorta has the bad company fun factor. I also love the quicker player movement it's less sluggish which is great for moving around on the bigger maps."If you don't have anything good to say, say it often"- Ed the sockComment

Re: Battlefield: Hardline (2014)
That countdown has to go. It's like fast forwarding through an episode of 24.
I remember I used to pour countless hours into BF3 and we always said it would be awesome to have 64 players in a game, but Battlefield 4 and now Hardline have me rethinking that.
It's taken a lot of the strategy out of Battlefield. A lot of games turn into a complete cluster****.
I do my best work in the 32 player servers on BF4, unless I'm with a decent squad that communicates.
and that hotwire mode is Horrible...feels like need 4 speed with guns and is boring as H***.
IDK maybe it was the room i was in but i have no desire to revist it. The conquest mode is the only thing worth playing but i really hate large open maps like Dust BowlSLIDERS SUCKComment

Re: Battlefield: Hardline (2014)
The game does have a pretty good feel considering it's still a beta. I just hope it doesn't get loaded with nerfs and buffs early on.
Heist is where I've had the most success and Hotwire is a points racket..
I'm sure I'm buying the retail now. I've had no real lag, which is nice. That was my biggest issue with BF4. My location killed me. Even BF4 works flawlessly now.Last edited by AUChase; 02-08-2015, 04:36 AM.Comment

Re: Battlefield: Hardline (2014)
Played Conquest.
Not a fan. I guess the concept of it bugs me. Just seems like a random shootout in Battlefield maps.
I guess I'd like to see more of a strategic/objective-driven game tied to drug wars. Like finding where their drug stash is or their money stash (headquarters).
Good guys and bad guys just sniping each other and flying helis is hard for me to buy into.Comment

Re: Battlefield: Hardline (2014)
Yea the beta has really grown on me. At first I wasn't a huge fan but I really like Dustbowl now.
It's open enough if you like those long range outside battles; but all the houses and motels bode very fun for close quarters encounters.
Went from maybe to day 1 for me. I'm glad they delayed it too I just really hope they ironed out most issues. If this launch is anything like BF4 (not that I think it will) would be devastating. This beta has got to be much closer to the final release than most betas of late.Comment

Re: Battlefield: Hardline (2014)
Ever since COD 4 came out and broke most of the FPS sales records, the Battlefield series just seems to be becoming more like COD and less like BF 1942.
This beta continues the trends of:
Smaller maps, shorter matches, fewer vehicles, no powerful air presence, less recoil, more auto aim, more accurate guns, higher rates of fire, faster player movement, more bottlenecks, more claustrophobic environments, tons of markers on the screen to tell you exactly where everything and everyone is at all times, more unnecessary XP grinding for important unlocks, etc.
I feel like this series reached its greatest points of depth and challenge with Battlefield 2 on PC, and with each passing sequel, they've gradually been dumbing down these games to capture more of the COD audience.
The beta reminds me of most EA sports games in how it's trying to appeal to every possible FPS fan, and in doing so, has satisfied none of them fully.Last edited by jyoung; 02-09-2015, 06:02 PM.Comment

Re: Battlefield: Hardline (2014)
I will say this though - they should've kept the PC Battlefield Track (BF2, 1942, 2142) separate from the Console Track (BF2 Modern Combat, Bad Company) games. Combining them both into once track (BF3) was where the series just seem to get lost and didn't know what it wanted to be anymore. It just wanted to be "bigger" and that's not a formula for great level design.
I think it goes without saying but BF Hardline falls more under the Console Track so if you are more of a tactical hardcore teamwork vehicular BF gamer, you probably should skip this one. Hopefully BF5 stays the course for you guys.Comment
