I wish I could, I just have no faith the Battlefield series will get back to its roots with BF5. A la BC2, which was my favorite.

At this point all we can hope for is that the gameplay is fun. Even if it's heading in the high speed run/shoot/die/respawn rinse and repeat direction of COD.

Hardline has been fun, even if not the Battlefield of old.

I've said this before, this battlefield is more "counter-strike" than anything.

I've gave up on wishing for a tactical shooter...game developers won't shake the dice anymore.

Reminds me of the rap industry. Initially, is was very organic and creative in the late 80s and 90s.

And then music industry grabbed it and pimped it like fast food hiphop.

        Re: Battlefield: Hardline (2014)

Played with Mike and a few other old school OS BF4 crew the other day.

I'm in, buying this on day one. I played BF4 exactly 1000 hrs. Although I don't see me playing Hardline that much, it'll do for now and keep me entertained.

It's fun for me and that's all I care about, I'm sure they'll nerf/buff a few things/weapons before release because I see it already lol.

Anything battlefield related and I'm bound to love it, because I'm good at these damn games and I kill a ton more than I get killed. Dust bowl is a fun map design for large conquest 'to me' and I also really liked hotwire mode. Heck, even heist ain't too bad.

So we can look forward to your endless complaints on this one like we did on BF4 as well!?

          Good times lol.

But in all seriousness erick, why even 'eventually/probably' buy hardline? Don't subject yourself to constant frustration like that, unless you're a masochist heh.

            Re: Battlefield: Hardline (2014)

ANOTHER LONG, WINDED POST ABOUT MY OPINION OF BATTLEFIELD.

I don't have a problem with the direction Battlefield has gone.

Battlefield: Modern Combat on the PS2/360 were pretty fun.

Bad Company 2 changed console FPS for me. I played a lot of Modern Warfare 2 with my friend and then one day I bought Bad Company 2 on a whim, even though I didn't like the original Bad Company at all. It was amazing and a lot of fun.

Battlefield 3 came out and from day one OSers were tearing that **** up. I've met most of the people I actually know something about from OS on Battlefield. The conversations had sometimes are hilarious.

I put in a massive amount of hours into that game between two consoles, considering how many hours I used to work and how many games I played at the time.

            Spoiler

I did feel a slight disconnect with BF4, but it was because I was still figuring my internet connection out. I struggled to get server stability playing from Japan on US servers and my game suffered a lot because of it + I missed the initial rush with everyone because of the Navy.

If people want massive scale warfare that's catered to PC gamers, there's always Arma.

Battlefield has just went the direction that it had to, to be successful and survive among console giants like Call of Duty. It still retains some great gun mechanics from the past like REAL bullet drop.

What I appreciate most is the different styles of play the games promote. Everyone doesn't have to run and gun in the trenches. The worst players can still contribute and help the team with supporting roles that are just as important as getting kills.

I've seen dudes finish with a terrible KDR, but lead an entire lobby on the leaderboards because they played the objective and give support to their squad and team. As long as Battlefield still provides that platform for anyone to be involved, regardless of skill level, then it's not on the decline. That's what it does best to me.

Also, we've really only seen a small taste of the game.

It comes out at the perfect time for me, I'll have a lot of free time to waste on BF. And it's been so long since I last played BF, I kinda miss it.

Maybe, it's good advice and not a "smart *** comment". You just said the series keep getting worse and worse, so you know what you are getting into before you buy Hardline. So, why put yourself through the stress and anger of playing a game that continually upsets you? At this point if you buy the game and you don't like it, or there are issues with the game, it's self inflicted torment.

So do yourself a favour and don't buy it, or buy and and take it for what it is and stop complaining. No one is making you buy it or even play it. At this point you know what you are getting yourself into, and it's not magically going to be the game you want it to be. At some point you have to cut your loses!
I am the lesson after the fall.
