Re: Battlefield: Hardline (2014)
I gotta say that I enjoy the game, but I'm not sure of the shelf life. I feel like they will keep adding more weapons for premium only which is too bad. The game itself is just a little too twitchy for my liking. It has some really fun moments but I just can't adapt to the combat. It feels just enough like Black Ops 2 to me that it gives me issues. I just can't seem to string many good games together on it.
I like the game, but it's my least favorite Battlefield of all of them for sure.
So I may end up playing this game longer if only because I haven't done a lot of Battlefielding in the last 24 months, but I do think this game can stand on its own merits; it's just trying to be a little different and clearly invested a lot in the single-player to try and separate it from the pack -- arguably like Bad Company did (though the Destruction stuff is what people loved as well).I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). I write it, and it hits your inbox every Friday morning (for freeeeeee). We also have an official OS Discord you can now join.Comment

Re: Battlefield: Hardline (2014)
To be fair, TO BE FAIR, you do suck in general.
Battlefield: BC2 was my BF3 -- and the Vietnam add-on only increased the amount I spent on that game. I never got too into BF4. I think the bad launch soured me on it for months, and then by the time it was truly awesome I just couldn't get into it.

Re: Battlefield: Hardline (2014)
Had one of my best games tonight went 22-7 on dust bowl conquest. Was using the mpsk silenced. I think that's what it is called, not good remembering the names. I usually just grab a gun & go."If you don't have anything good to say, say it often"- Ed the sockComment

Battlefield: Hardline (2014)
I don't know what it is. But it just does not have that same addictive quality that BF3 and even BF4 had.
The only thing I can think of is that there seems to be a de-emphasis on team play.
I felt that roles had a bigger impact on the game. Now classes just seem to be whatever gun you feel like using. Whereas before you switched knowing what a map typically brings.
So you may have to be engineer because you know there were going to be a bunch of tanks. Or maybe you run recon so that you can lock on to vehicles to allow your teammates to hit them with their Javelins.
It just felt like there were so many different approaches to playing the game. Especially when it came to team work. That doesn't seem like the case here.Comment

I think you're spot on with the class stuff. When I pick my class in this game it's based on the gun I want to use. I'm a mechanic most of the time but I feel like I've only had the opportunity to repair something a few times.
I wish they would have distributed more assault rifles outside of the operator class.Comment

Re: Battlefield: Hardline (2014)
I was saying this earlier in the thread, I think Visceral's decision to reduce the number of weapons available if backfiring on them.
I'm basing it off of comments I've read on reddit, BF forums, and here.
People like having lots of choices and mixing it up, trying new weapons. I believe they're going to have to release more weapon packs down the road.
51 weapons doesn't cut it, in comparison to when you add up all the weapons in BF4 minus the gadgets, throwables, melee, you have 107 weapons.Comment

Re: Battlefield: Hardline (2014)
I made a quick gameplay montage with some sniping footage with the typical weapons used in the game. Gonna make a new one soon with the lesser used weapons; even though they're a significant downgrade from the good ones, they're still fun to use.
