    Re: Battlefield: Hardline (2014)

I played COD for several years (MW2, BO, MW3, BO II) and finally switched when BF4 came out instead of purchasing COD: Ghosts...the launch was terrible but I thoroughly enjoyed the gameplay and its potential. Each game has it's niche but BF is more "sim" to me which I enjoy -- why I buy MLB: The Show each year!

BFH seems like a hybrid between COD and BF4 and I don't like it; I've tried to enjoy this game as some of the modes like Hotwire and Bloodmoney are great concepts and truly fit the type of game (cops/criminals) they're pushing...I just wish from a gameplay standpoint that they would've stuck to the usual BF4 model.

The short time-to-kills greatly reduces the variance in skill levels between players (1 frame deaths get me irritated! ) not to mention the sheer oversight from the RPG spam and weapon balance. They've built smaller maps and have limited vehicles so the game is mostly "small" -- subsequently, SMGs rule the game. If I'm not using the K10 or M3/416 then I'm at a disadvantage if I want to play the objective.

Maybe I'm being short-sighted, close minded or just plain ignorant but I've put in about 25 HRs worth to determine it's going on my shelf until I get tired of BF4.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

What's best to have the hi-frequency update set at, auto, on or off. I have the PS4 version. Thanks.

I've been playing this game since launch, I messed around and put BF4 in wow, what a huge graphics difference! BF4 is a beast graphically! Hardline is cool, but can't touch the graphics of BF4. Plus, the pacing of Hardline is more COD-esque. I enjoy both games, but I was taken aback by the graphics difference.

I agree, BF4 looks better to me as well (and with larger maps & more vehicles, go figure).

BFHL is extremely fast paced as opposed to BF4 with its more slow & methodical approach.

I like them both for what they are. I still play hardline daily but I'm also waiting on them weapons & community map for BF4.

Its amazing how much this game has died already. People seem to have stuck with BF4 for the most part.

It's all subjective, I play daily and the awesome group of guys we got together play daily as well.

We have around 8 guys that all play every day and we just continually swap in whoever to keep the rotation going. It's really fun, got the party chat full with everyone bsing. Very reminiscent of the old BF4 days with the old crew.

But then again you may be referring to pc because I hear / read that's dead. We're on PS4 and there are tons of servers and always full.

Our crew was playing last night and we were always at the top just having fun.

Yeah I'm still playing quite a bit as well. I sometimes sneak into Boltman's games for a bit but haven't played much with him. Point being, it's still a good change of pace.

                        I read 80% of sales of hardline was on PS4 & XboxOne & 20% spread between PC, PS3 & 360. http://mp1st.com/2015/05/05/xbox-one...es-ea-reports/

Man didn't realize today was "phew phew sniper fest" day

Been playing all week and for some reason they were running wild today. So annoying and while playing blood money of all things

How you can sit back get 5 kills all match, lose by 100 or more every match while still having fun is beyond me. Besides that I'm still having a good time playing

I would say you're being short sighted seeing as how what you described is what they intended the game to be. It's like an action movie but on a disc. Yeah you'll die a lot but K/D is not the objective in BF it's playing the objective. You don't even have to kill players to get a top score in modes like hot wire and blood money you just have to get the cars/money and run lol it's fun but I do understand what you mean.

I do like the larger maps of BF4 but that's a war game and this is something completely different. It's supposed to be high action and fast paced which is why the maps are smaller. Not that I think it's a good idea but it does work and once I started getting 15k in a win with no kills I realized this. I never play deathmatch in any games btw. Not Destiny, and that's the main reason I don't play CoD because all it is a deathmatch lol. But I enjoy games with objectives, not to say I can't get kills or a high K/D but it's like you said you have to use the weapons that kill fast or you're butter toast.

I do think they'll have bigger maps in the DLC but for now I think if you like BF4 or BF in general try to look at is as an action movie in game form and don't worry about dying so much. The rush is trying to stay alive lol not who gets the most kills. But if you do enjoy getting a high KD find the Rocket Launchers on the map and take out some Choppers or use the Sabotage/C4 charges and hook them to the cars and wait until the other team hotwires it and blow them up lol.

I had to adjust myself. I thought it was gonna be like BF4 but with Cops & Robbers and it is to an extent but it's intended to be fast paced with lots of deaths so don't sweat dying too much because that doesn't hurt your score as much as not playing the objective. I've died 11 times one game with 1 kill and still lead the team in scoring with 12k all because I was hotwiring cars left & right. I def feel you in the short kills messing up skill level but where you show skill is by leading in points, not kills.

All in all it's fun but I do prefer BF4 too...The tanks and jets make it a different game.

I play some weekend days when I can catch people on.

I'm just not in the same the rhythm I was in the games first few weeks. I even rage quit a few days ago because I was 24-20. I can't stand dying that much and the game actually got to me, especially when I'm used to playing really well.

It's a fun game in desperate need of some new maps.
