I’m the same way. I played it a good amount of hours but just stopped playing and never went back. Hoping to finish it off some day. I still feel like it’s a very good game just overrated a bit because it’s a Zelda game. I played Horizon ZD and AC: Origins around the same time and I’d put them both above it.

It's not a huge story beat or anything of the such but its just things like this that make me think how many other people have found this? And when? It's just so damn magical.

I've forgot enough about this game but it's still familiar enough to where it makes special again....hell and there's still places I haven't seen yet that I can't wait to see.

This game really is the GOAT.
Did you make another profile for this playthrough or are you playing on Hero Mode?

Same profile...had it physically but sold it foolishly and deleted my save.

Bought it digitally now and just started over...

I played BOTW earlier this year and quit it after 20+ hours. The last two hours, I was literally wandering around doing and accomplishing nothing which told me, game is done. It's just so damn old, outdated and obsolete in so many ways. The Witcher III, Horizon and AC Origins/Odyssey blow it away in well, every aspect. BOTW has some cool stuff like when wearing a metal shield, you can struck by lightning but the core basics like story, characters and combat is average at best. Unlike you though, I will never ever go back to the game especially since I traded it in two days later. LOL.

            Everyone's different

AC and Horizon are a bore fest to me.
            Witcher 3 ..overrated.
All of which is why I'm never in those threads as they aren't for me.

Not saying BOTW is the be all end all as its not.. but I'll take it over the previous mentioned games all day.

Just saying you can put overrated on quite a few games depending on each gamer.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but this new play through has just re-enforced to me that this is the greatest open world game ever and my favorite game of all time now...

Playing without the HUD this time around has really, really made a difference...encourages exploring and searching things out way more.

I am down the rabbit hole all over again lol.

I almost went through with Playthrough #2 over the weekend, but didn't really wind up having enough time to commit to that. I've got 5.5 days off coming up with the holiday, so think that'll be the opportunity to return to Hyrule.

I like the idea of turning the HUD off.

Yea for me nothing beats this game

the sheer amount of armor the sheer amount of different landscape the fact that every corner SOMETHING could be there it had a mystiscm like no other game for me and the scale and scope with the climbing flying off stuff was and will be unmatched.

                  absolutely a landmark of game

sad for those who are bored with this game

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch/WiiU)

currently beginning my 3rd playthrough (1st was on my launch Switch that my son now has, 2nd was on my newer, personal Switch on Master Mode due to starting over with no save file, 3rd is on Normal mode on my Switch). I beat Ganon on Master Mode, but I really didn't want to have to deal with trying to approach 100% with harder enemies and regenerating health; getting to and beating the Divine Beasts & Ganon was enough of a chore!

1.75 years since launch, and it still feels fresh as Day 1 to me. There are areas I didn't traverse before in either of my 2 playthroughs, and I'm always finding new techniques and strategies for dealing with things. This time, I got up to 5 hearts, and decided to walk in the back door of Hyrule Castle and pretty much just loot the joint for all the powerful weapons and shields. Got the Hylian Shield, and went back into Hyrule to just wreck enemies and just crush their spirits.

Always something new to try in that game, as well as just the sheer beauty of it all.

A question for you guys because I know most of us are logical and levelheaded.

With a lot of early games being remade to improve graphics and controls do you think we'll ever see any Zelda or other early Nintendo games remade for the current generation?

Nintendo does a great job of porting old games. In terms of actually remaking a game, I don't think so. BOTW and Mario Odeysee are arguably the best versions of their respected franchises.

What Nintendo does best, and what they will continue to do, is develop amazing new titles while also making old one available to play as is.

There is some really good music in this game but over all the music is very mediocre by Zelda standards.
