How do you set the XBOX to support high definition??

I bought the high def a/v pack, and hooked up the component cables directly to my Samsung HLN567W dlp television. There are three sets of component inputs in the back of my tv. One for 480p or 480i only and two for 480p, 480i, 720p or 1080i. When I hook it up to the inputs with the 720p and 1080i I get a message saying that the component is not supported (message from the tv). When I hook it up to the other one, I get video but when I go into xbox options and video, I can only choose between normal, letterbox or widescreen. No high def. What's the trick?

Go to the Xbox settings, and turn on 480p, 720p, and 1080i.

If you have the offiical Xbox HD A/V Pack or the Monster A/V pack, you should have the settings to turn on the HD sources you want to view. Make sure it's plugged all the way into the back of the XBox. Other than that, I really don't know.

There should be another option besides just the widescreen, etc. I don't have the pack, only a Vport connection, and I have the option of turning on the 1080i and such.
