Saints Row IV: Re-Elected (Xbox One, Playstation 4)

Deep Silver and Volition are re-releasing Saints Row IV on new-gen consoles to coincide with the release of the expansion, Gat Out of Hell. The PS4 and Xbox One game will feature all of the DLC from Saints Row IV, plus a few other perks.

Saints Row IV puts players in the role of the President of the United States, but your time in the Oval Office is cut short when aliens attack. The rest of the game has you exploring a simulated version of Steelport (the city from Saints Row: The Third), gathering powers and storming around like super hero. For more about the original, read our review.

Saints Row IV: Re-Elected brings all of that to the new crop of consoles, plus the DLC, community challenges, and an improvement (though slight) to the graphics.

If that isn't incentive enough, think about this: The expansion, Gat Out of Hell, uses your Saints Row IV save data to bring your version of the boss into the cutscenes. Since Saints Row IV didn't appear on PS4 or Xbox One, you'll need to get Re-Elected if you don't want to see a stock version of the boss in those versions of Gat Out of Hell.

Re-Elected hits January 27, the same day as Gat Out of Hell. It costs $30 individually, and $50 bundled with Gat Out of Hell.

I'm glad I held off on this. $50 for both seems like a good deal - I need some cartoony, over-the-top action in my life.

I might use my %10 towards this for PS4, had a good bit of fun on the first three.

I wish they would put 1-3 on new consoles, I'd like to play through the whole story again.

I bought IV for the 360 but never opened it (there was some type of Amazon deal). I preordered it for the One too and might actually play this one.

I really want to finish the first three before hand.

I have the PS4 version, but it only installed re-elected and not GAT. Any ideas?

There's two cards in the case. I did the same thing you probably did because they stuck together. The front card is GAT, the back card is the other stuff. So I flipped the card over and installed the other stuff when I thought it was GAT. Whenever I went to put them back in the case, they came apart.

I have never played this game before and like it a lot. Reminds me a lot of Crackdown and Sunset Overdrive (also starring Nolan North). The humor is great.

I just bought this and have played a ton over the last few days. Nolan North makes any game immediately more enjoyable. Its defintely better than any superhero game I've ever played and the humor is spot on.
For $15 it was an insane deal and in would recommend it to anyone who likes funny games or good open world games in general.

Recognize the game is fun, but it's a sad turn from the great games of SR1 and SR2. They took the fun stuff people did for the hell of it after the game and made it 'the game', and lost all aspect of a reasonable story line. Believe sales are suffering now too. Not sure where they take Saints Row from here.... they've been to the Matrix, to Space, and to Hell.

I didn't play any of the previous games. My only complaint is the game is really easy. But it's a blast to play. I got it used and the hell dlc code has been used already. May buy it once I finish the main game.

Totally agree. I tried to play the Third and couldn't take it. The next ones were just something I would NEVER ever touch. I understand that they wanted to differentiate themselves from (mainly) GTA and tried something completely different, but I can't see myself ever touching this game if they keep going the same route. However, there must be lots of gamers who enjoy this, so my 'vote' wouldn't really make any difference.

Never played the first one but watched lots of videos and thought it was decent. I liked the second one, even if some of the exaggerations turned me off a bit, but it was still a good game that I enjoyed playing.
