The Xbox One Generation of Games...(so far)

I guess you can color me jaded about my Xbox1 experience so far. For starters, here's the list of games that I've bought/played on the XB1:

    AC IV: Black Flag
    Amazing Spider-Man 2
    CoD Ghosts
    Dead Rising 3
    Destiny
    Madden 15
    Madden 25
    Stryder
    Titanfall
    Transformers AoE
    Watch Dogs

I don't feel like any of these games were ground breaking in any way.

While I've had fun, I haven't had any different of an experience than on the 360.

The leap of graphics from the original Xbox to Xbox 360 was tremendous, and while the Xbox One looks great graphically, a 2013/2014 Xbox 360 game looks awesome too and a fraction of the price.

I still have my 360 and play it often, often times choosing it over the XB1.

I feel like in a couple of years this thread will be a distant memory (I hope), but I feel like this initial year has been a let down from the overall experience.

By comparison, a year into the xbox 360 we had groundbreaking games like Gears of War and Oblivion. I am hoping that AC: Unity, Alien: Isolation, Sunset Overdrive, or The Evil Within will make this thread non-existent in a couple months...

    Thoughts?

The games are coming, for both consoles too. I've been underwhelmed (I own both X1 and PS4), but I knew it would be like this for the first year. I've enjoyed the games so far but know the real big hits are coming. Patience is key!

Couldn't be happier with my PS4, but it really came down to having a baseball game. It's really a great time to be a gamer. The PC has stepped up its games and these next generation of consoles really have some great games coming.

I played the 360 a lot mainly sports games, but these next generation of console games really look like they will bring a lot to the table.

While im happy with my PlayStation 4, 2014 will be known as the disappointing, remastered and definitive editions year.

However, the last quarter of 2014 is when we'll finally get some good games even though the majority of them are cross-gen but 2015 is when we'll get some great games that aren't cross-gen. I have over ten games for 2015 on my list already.

As for Xbox 360 (which I own), the first main game I played was Splinter Cell Conviction back in 2010. That was the game I bought the console for since it was a console exclusive. I am playing 360 now as im replaying Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and once im finished, it's on to replaying Far Cry 3 while im waiting for The Evil Within.

Kind of glad I didn't jump on the next gen console train just yet.

Especially since financially I'm struggling a bit, maybe by the time I get back on my feet there will be some must have titles for these consoles.

That's kind of how I feel. I don't have a Xbox1 or PS4. I haven't seen the game yet that has compelled me to buy either. I was hoping that MLB 14 The Show was going to be that game but it doesn't look that much better than the PS3 version for the investment to be worth it.

Plus, a lot of the titles out for the new consoles are also available on the PC, look just as good if not better, and are cheaper six months after release.

I'm sure I'll make the leap eventually but I'm surprised 12 months after launch nothing has really grabbed me.

I've been enjoying my XB1 since day 1. No lack of great games as far as I'm concerned, starting for me with NBA 2K14, BF4 and Forza 5.
NBA 2K14 was a nice step up in graphics.
BF4 finally gave me 64 players online on the console.
Titanfall added some nice twists to online FPS and servers were solid.
Garden Warfare was also a blast.
Madden 15 looks fantastic and maybe the best NFL game to date.

Besides enjoying the games, I like the XB1 interface. Switching instantaneously between TV and gaming. Being able to multitask with TV or an app on the side screen. Saying "Xbox play Titanfall" or "Xbox go to Netflix." This stuff is what makes it feel next gen and a great addition to my game room.
