Xbox: Audio Conversion Software for Mac

I am trying to convert some .WAV sound files to .WMA sound files in order to burn them to my Xbox for use in the upcoming NFL2k5. Apparently, .WMA sound files are the only ones that the Xbox can recognize in order to RIP custom tracks. I have a Mac with OS X Jaguar. Can someone out there recommend some free audio conversion software that is capable of this type of a conversion?

    Thanks!

Just burn a normal audio CD. Your xbox should be able to read that.

Nope. it doesn't. My Mac over here converts the .WAV file to an AIFF file, not recognized by the Xbox. This is why I need to find a way to convert them to .WMA

Then your burner is screwed. If they play in a normal cd player, they should play in the xbox. No special conversion should be required.

Re: Xbox: Audio Conversion Software for Mac

I don't think there is a problem with my burner since the created disk does work on other players, including my DVD player at home. i am 99% positive that it is because of the AIFF format that my Mac is turning these files into. I looked up the specs of the audio format that the Xbox can recognize and it clearly states .WMA.

Anyway, back to my original question: Do you know of some good Audio File Conversion Software availble online for a FREE download? For use with Mac of course.

then download itunes and burn it as an mp3 cd.

I think you might be able to convert files into mp3 format with iTunes also. I haven't done it though.

As for a program that converts a file into a WMA file, I don't know if there's a program around on a mac that does that.

If there is, you might find it at www.download.com or www.versiontracker.com

I wouldn't reccommend doing the conversion though, as some games play the converted songs in slowmotion for some reason.

I converted a few cd's to wma format and transferred them to my xbox and they played in slowmotion on madden 04 and need for speed, and a few other games.

edit: oh, after reading your post again, you're xbox might just have a problem reading the media you're using.

Some cd-r's dont work on the xbox and others do. Whereas most cd-rw's work.

So maybe try burning the wav files to a cdrw and then ripping the disc with the xbox. Because it should be able to read it if the format of the songs can play on regular stereo's and computers.
