Refurbished XBOX's...

Alright here's the problemo. I've had my xbox for about 2 1/2 years and now I'm getting a lot of DDE errors and its slowing up tremendously compared to newer xbox's. I was wondering what i should do about this problem. I thought maybe i should get a new box or try and change the dvd drive but i'm not sure...maybe i should just purchase a new one. My question is what should i do? Do refurbished xbox's come with new dvd drives or what? Anybody have one?...ARGGG I HATE MY BOX!!!

i had one but it messed up on me and sent it back and got a brand new one. some work and some dont just depends on which one you bring home really.

EBGames takes in your broken Xbox and you can get store credit for it. Use that and get a new one.

I'd stay away from refurbished units, that is you purchase a warranty. (But even so it's only 6 months.)

Get a new DVD drive. Relatively cheap on Ebay and super easy to install. Let me know if you want more info

the refurbs are expensive.. like 120.. right?

for an extra 30 you can get a brand new one.. i dont understand how they can charge that much for a used box.

Does anybody know what to look for, as far as serial numbers or what not, on the OUTSIDE of the new Xbox packaging, to be certain we are getting the SAMSUNG drive and NOT the sh!tty Thompon drive?
