Sit down and read very carefully. I was asked what the specs were for my pc. Ok, you still with me? Good...
Now, I answered the question and last I looked the HDD were part of my configuration. Got it? Good.
Lastly I use my PC for a lot more than just games so the RAID DOES have some benefits such as better storage performance (Read/Write).

But saying your HDDs are in raid doesnt help me or somebody else determine if they can run doom. Its just there so you can say you have it and seem big. Just like if you were talking about a car

          a warning to all.

enough about raid arrays and whether you care whether someone mentions them or not. This thread is about doom 3. Keep it as such or it will be locked.

My new system won't have any trouble running Doom 3.

              AMD Athlon 64 3400
              1 GB ram
              6800 GT graphics card

I recently ordered a new PC (can't wait until it gets here) with Doom and Half Life in mind. I won't have to upgrade for a while.

Here are my impressions after having it for 2 days.

The game, at first, was choppy but after some tweaking, its running pretty smooth. Anyway, the graphics are nice but you don't get to really enjoy it because of the dark atmosphere. Once you get your flashlight, be prepared to switch between it and your weapon, alot. Gameplay is nothing revolutionary, its very basic and there isn't even a lean function. So far, the AI is pretty dumb. They have certain patterns that once you get, you'll be able to kill them with ease. Finally, the game has made me jump from my seat a couple of times. So far, I've had like 3 "holy crap!" reactions while playing because of unexpected things happening, which are very well done by the way.

Anway, the game is very fun and has alot of suspense, which will keep you to the edge of your seat. Its nothing revolutionary but better than most FPS's out today. Definitely recommend it to those who haven't gotten it yet.

I was previously complaining about the damage model, apparently if you go over to PlanetDoom.com they have an ungibbable mod that leaves the bodies there if you blow them away with the shotgun or whatever...

A warning. Whenever you install new mods, when you load a saved game it takes you back to the very start of the level. Make sure you're either at or near the start to make sure you don't lose progress or just finish your current level and put in the new mod. If, say, you install and load the game with the mod and want your previous save back, just delete the mod and you'll be where you originally saved.
