    Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

Anyone playing this game? I haven't really seen anyone on my friends list playing.

This game was such a surprise for me. It's loaded with content and unlockables and every run is different. I've spent 20-30 hours since it was given free last month and still can't get enough. It's by far my favorite indie game on ps4, nah, it's my favorite game overall not just indie on the ps4

I've put 84 hours in on the PC so far. The original still sits as my most played game on Steam just above Civ 5. More than likely this will surpass it in the near future. Just a great way to kill time.

      I can attest to this.

Personally I could never get as much into the original because it had some odd framerate issues on my system. Rebirth has no such problems, and I've already played it much more than I ever did the original.

I'm up to the point on both PC and PS4/Vita where I can choose which of the two endgame paths to take on any given playthrough.

Well, the items you find in locked gold door rooms have either passive or active (that you activate yourself and have a recharge time) effects. Cards and Pills will always do the same thing over the course of a single playthrough, but you won't know what a specific color pill does unless you take it or have the PHD passive item. Trinkets (lower left area of the screen) usually manipulate the game's RNG factors in some way, causing more of a specific item to drop. Some of the trinkets also have passive effects very similar to the item room stuff too.

Part of the fun and challenge of the game is figuring out which items work best together (imagine a Four-Directional full-screen laser or three of Mom's Knife shooting out at once, for example), but there are sites that tell what the effect of every item in the game is.

Grabbed that using Azazel my first time using him. Just breezed through the game once I got that.

I did manage to beat Satan my first time the other night. Now to go to heaven and finish the bosses on that side.

Gave this a shot last night...man is it fun. Addictive as hell too.

                Indies are so awesome.

Someone was telling me the story of the game. Sounds pretty full on. Sounds like it is about child abuse due to a mad religious mother with serious mental health issues.

This game is easily my favorite non-sports game I own for PS4. One one hand that says something for just how fun the game can be, but on the other hand it's sad how little I have enjoyed most of the retail games purchased over the past 12 months.

Consoles just got the update getting it ready for the Afterbirth DLC. There goes many more hours of getting lost in this game.
